Product Description

Size: 3" Thick-Twin X-Large

Memory foam's ability to reduce pressure points is one of the reasons so many people are using it to get the best night's sleep. Now you can enjoy the benefits of memory foam without having to buy a new mattress by adding this memory foam mattress topper to your existing spring, latex or even memory foam mattress. This topper will add comfort and increase the quality of sleep from your mattress immediately. Three inches of four pound density memory foam used in this topper is specifically designed to enhance the feel of your current mattress and also provides additional support in areas where your mattress may be dipping or sagging. The foam is also specially formulated to contour to your body at any temperature and will give you the extra comfort you need to get the best night's sleep possible from your current mattress. Our toppers have also earned the PURGreen certification, which means they are manufactured, fabricated and packaged in the U.S.A. meeting all EPA and CSPC standards being safe and free from harmful chemicals. PURGreen uses independent laboratory results to qualify products and ensure they are manufactured without the use of ozone-depleting substances such as Chlorofluorocarbons, Polybrominated Biphenyl Ether substances, Harmful Metals, Formaldehyde, Prohibited Phthalates or any other unsafe materials. PURGreen also implements baseline requirements such as conserving water, energy and other natural resources in the manufacturing processes established through internationally accepted ISO standards and procedures. There may be a new foam smell associated with your new topper; however, this odor is not toxic or harmful passing all PURGreen, EPA and CSPC standards. MADE IN THE USA. Your memory foam mattress topper has been compressed and vacuum sealed for shipping purposes. Please carefully unpack the memory foam from the sealed packaging and lay completely flat allowing your topper to fully decompress for up to 96 hours at 72 degrees in cold weather. In warm weather the topper will expand rapidly; however, it will need time to “cool” down to an ambient room temperature of 72 degrees. Your memory foam topper is temperature sensitive and this is why it needs to reach an ambient temperature of approximately 72 degrees. U.S. made foam does not contain any toxic ingredients like formaldehyde or PBDE, polybrominateddiphenylether, but it can have new foam smell that lasts for a couple of days to a couple of weeks, based on the time of year the foam is produced. The foam smell does not necessarily trigger allergies; however, it can be bothersome to some people who have a sensitivity to smell. If the smell bothers you, try airing out the room and washing the sheets after a few nights of sleep on the new mattress.

The Best Investment I Have Ever Made For A Better Night Sleep!!!
Ryan Burke
Could smell the sweet chemical odor only very slight but it didn't bother my at all.
It is firm enough to give support, but soft enough to be very comfortable.

I'm a very cautious buyer - I spent around 2 weeks researching brands and different mattress toppers as I was on a college student's budget. This is what I found:

Densities of Toppers
2 lb/ft density - For side sleepers, you'd want firmer mattresses so lower densities are better
3-4 lb/ft density - For back sleepers, you'd want softer mattresses so you can sink. If you want a softer sleep, a 3 pound density is fine. If you want a fitful slumber of mutant marshmallows enveloping you, go for the 4 pound.

Thickness of Toppers
2" - It all depends on weight. If you're a tiny Asian woman or one of those tall and really skinny guys who weigh like 130-ish pounds, 2 inches is fine.
3" - If you're like a college student who weighs around 160-ish, this is for you.
4" - For people who are muscular or particularly enjoy cake.

Brand Comparisons:
Amazon won't let people post links but there's a site called SleepLikeTheDead that shows really good brand comparisons. Do a bit of Googling and you'll find it.

Miscellaneous Information
Even though the topper seems to be like an inch short of the mattress you're putting it on, it really doesn't make a difference. I thought it would look obvious that the topper was shorter than the mattress but it wasn't.
Also, you have to let it expand before you use it or else it won't be able to expand to its maximum size. Some do weeks, others do a couple of days, but I let mine expand for like 5 hours and I measured it with a ruler and it got to its 3" thickness so I decided it was ready.

The last site shows great reviews of the topper.

This purchase was one of the best I have made ever. An that is the absolute truth - I'm not paid to write this. I was looking for something that would make the hard bed at a family member's house more comfortable while we were there on vacation. My husband & I have an assortment of physical issues between us and a week on a hard bed would have been too painful. I read so many of the reviews on various bed pads that I was thinking it would be hopeless - untill I found this one. I also wanted something more organic & less toxic since this family has minor latex alergies which is nothing to fool around with - but this pad gave them no problem at all! When it arrives I warned them that it could stink & need airing out before we make it there. First - it arrived early & I received emails informing me of the process. Then I was told the smell was minimal & dissipated quickly - very different from every other review I had read. When we got there I couldn't believe how comfortable it was! I kept thinking what a brilliant purchase this was!

UPDATE Aug 2, 2014

It's been close to a year since we got this topper. We are still very happy with it. You'd have to point a gun to my head to give it up.

The product arrived in two days (Prime membership). There was MINIMAL odor to it. It expanded quickly to full height. I slept on it the first night and had the best night's sleep I have had in many years. I will update this in 6 months to report on how the product holds up. You might find my "story" below to help in your decision making.

We bought our first memory foam bed (queen size) about 5-6 years ago from a local furniture store. It was low end, but we loved it, and immediately decided to use it for a guest bed and upgrade to a king size. We bought the same bed, or so we thought, until it arrived. The store had substituted the model. The manager assured us the product we got was the same or better. Well, it was NOT. We've been making due with it, but I finally attributed my restless, sleepless nights and morning back pain to the cheapo mattress. I decided to get something better, but this time I was going to do my homework.

2 - 2.5
The second (king size) bed must have been a 2 or 2.5 lb density AT BEST. That explains why we didn't like it. At that low density, the foam doesn't have the pliability that you want in a memory foam mattress, and it won't last.

The top layer (most important factor in determining the amount of "give") of the original queen size bed we bought was a 3 lb density foam. We thought is was comfortable, but the fact is, a 3lb density will not hold up over time. Luckily it only serves as a guest bed and gets little use (we have no friends).

4 - 5.

I bit the bullet and pushed the "submit order" button. I read every review available, and felt I had made the best choice; but I was still worried. Would it be dense enough? Would it be too hot? Too smelly? Take too long to puff back up? Be too spongy, like foam-rubber? Help me sleep at all? Take some of my aches and pains away? Probably all of the questions that are running through your head right now. Well, you can look no further! Really. You have found what you have been looking for.

Ordered 03/06/12, received 03/12/12, so the shipping was super-speedy. The topper was vac-packed into a 2.5 x 2 x 1 (or close to that size) box. The seller put a lot of extra effort into packaging by taping the hell out of the box - to prevent it from exploding like a life raft, is my guess. It was very well done and pretty easy to unpack - I was kinda worried about that too. The smell did NOT smack me in the face, as I was expecting. I'm hyper-sensitive to smells of all kinds, but this wasn't that bad. Kind of a "new furniture" smell. Chemical-ish, but by no means horrible. I wanted to sleep on it that night, but my husband wanted to follow someone's recommendation, and made us wait for two whole days. -So that makes us actually sleeping on it for a week now.

We left it to expand and breathe in an extra room for those two days (at his insistence) and finally carried it to the bed! I should mention that, at least for the king-size, you're going to need two people to handle this thing. It's pretty heavy and would be extremely difficult to manage by yourself.

Now for the part you've been waiting for... The first night... I climbed onto the bed and laid there for a sec - and NO PINCHY LOWER-BACK!!! I was amazed! I always have that!
