The cover of the video drew me to this film,but don't expect too much. THE DENTIST 2 is pretty slow in places, but the gore and F/X are good, and it was funny in places. I haven't seen the first film and after seeing this I'm not sure I will bother, but it isn't a total waste of time. Gore hounds will like it. People who are sensitive of dentists...beware!

Corbin Bernsen returns as the hilariously homicidal Dr. Feinstone in THE DENTIST 2: BRACE YOURSELF. He escapes from the mental institution, and sets up shop in the small, rural town of Paradise (after the "accidental" death of the town dentist). The unwary folks have no idea who it is that's poking around in their mouths! This time, Feinstone falls for a local gal, while his vengeful, ex-wife (Linda Hoffman) tries to track him down. While not as insanely fun as the original, this sequel is still worth several repeat visits...

This ones actually pretty funny and gory,If you rent it and dont expect too much,you'll love it.Everyone hates to go to the dentist,but this flick will make you lucky that you dont step into Corbin Bernsens office.The ending is pretty weird and lame.Watch it before your next cleaning!!

Dr Feinstone has escaped from a mental institution and has taken up an assumed identity in the small town of paradise. Here he hopes to start over. He keeps his impulses to clean up society at bay by cutting himself thus driving his evil out through pain. The local dentist does a lousy job on the Dr's teeth and during an argument falls down some stairs to his doom. Paradise now needs a new dentist. And they get one. At first all goes well but its not long before the old urges come back. How long can the dentist hold them back?

Quite a while as it turns out and thats something i didnt like about this movie. It takes too long to get going. in the first movie that didnt bother me so much but here, the backstory isnt quite as good to hold us over to the gorings. When the gorings come, its more of the same delightful torture we got in the first film. In one scene, an unfortunate busybody has a tooth torn out of her gums and the dangling nerve is used as bait in a game of truth or lies...not to be missed.

I'm surprised people liked the first one enough to make a sequel. I'm glad though, this movie's pretty rad. It's got an intellegent story, and still lots of insanely painful and gory looking stuff. The first Dentist movie is definetly not bad either. I reccommend this and the first movie to anyone and everyone.

Yeah I know, I like watching bad movies, I think they're pretty funny, and when they have gore, I find it even better, because I love gore. And "The Dentist 2" brought both of them. It has some jokes that remind of "Dr.Giggles"'s.

This film had, in the line of what bad movie lovers enjoy, some stupid one-liners, a psycho schizophreniac dentist, some quite sadistic acts of violence (against an idiot fat lady, and many other characters played by so-so actors), a weird and lame ending, a pretty stupid scenario, and some pretty gruesome sequences of dental torture.

The story is about a maniac dentist who was put in a mental ward after he had turned crazy and went on a killing spree. That man escapes from the mental ward (and it's a very easy and stupid escape) and hides in another small town, where he becomes the town's dentist. But this man lives with the constant memory of his wife who had cheated on him (and that's what made him insane in the first episode of "The Dentist"). And it haunts him...and the insanity's back in his head, and he's on another killing spree.

This is a survivor of the "gore" genre. This film is directed by Brian Yuzna, who also brought us "The Dentist", "Faust:Love of The Damned", "Return of the Living Dead 3", and "Progeny". He's not a great director at all, but in the gore genre, he's one of those rare guys who hang on. Corbin Bernsen is not that bad as the insane dentist, but the rest of the cast is pretty bad. The gore effects are really disgusting, there are zooms of mouths being mutilated, and if you're already afraid of going at the dentist, don't see this.

Well, overall, it's a nice movie to watch as a stupid bad movie. It has some funny parts (and it's not always meant to be funny), very disgusting scenes, and a psycho dentist...it says it all­...

I give it 7/10 (in the cheese meter) 2/10 (as a normal movie)

After watching Yuzna's "Progeny", it is not hard to imagine how "The Dentist 2" should have been far superior to the former film. I was wrong - from the all too rushed storyline (Crazy doctor finally got out of jail... tried to get his life back but failed because he was indeed mentally sick), to the failed attempt at acummulating the tension of the final violent scenes (since the tension does not actually being built up, the last teeth massacre - there's only FEW of them - cannot revive this audience's spirit for liking the film), this film is a total waste. Yuzna's directing here is not as good as the more artistic effort of his in "Progeny", even though he uses interesting transitional devices like the irises and wipes that are uncommonly used in horror films (this sadly creates the "joking", "playful" nature of the film - though the subject of the film is indeed quite serious). Even the special effects of the film are disappointing (not much blood spurting around... nor any gum being rawly ripped). Who said that this film is only for the strong-stomached?

There are so many things that one can do in making a horror film on dentistry, and the killings shown here are very, very tame and lame. This film is not on a demented story about dentistry violence - it tends to fall towards the genre of black comedy. Maybe that is what Yuzna is after: Without success.

Eh. Dentist 2 takes our man-falling-off-the-edge dentist who goes on an uncontrollable murder spree to stop the spread of decay, filth, and imperfection in a world he can't control and puts him on the run and hiding out in a small town. He's trying to resist the urges that compelled him to violence in the past, but ends up having quite a hard time doing it. As the movie moves along, his self-control quickly degrades, as does the power of his character. What originally was a very frightening, very human (albeit very deranged human) character becomes a typical, cookie cutter horror movie villain by the final scene. It's disappointing that the psychological horror of the original got reduced to what boils down to your cliche'd horror film antagonist. I realised early on the psychological element of the first one was going to be absent, but was truly saddened that the character was going to be reduced to an easily-written monster. Eh!

On the heels of the wildly enjoyable The Dentist we, Sid the Elf, followed with the sequel. This was an easy decision due to the fact that the first film was disgustingly awe-inspiring. The scenes with Bernsen weaving his dental magic were neausiating, even affecting the most hard-boiled horror fans. The Dentist 2 was great as well, but in a much different way. This one is classic B horror which absolutely would have gotten the nod from young Sid on The Movie Channel. And you know what? We wouldn't have been disapointed then either.

Bernsen escapes the mental hospital he gets locked up in at the end of the first installment. Now its off to Anytown, USA(Paradise, MO)where he changes his name but still remains the same obsessive freak. He has a new target this time, Jamie. But his toungeless ex, Brooke, is still alive and is a major contributor to the film. She hires a PI to track down Bernsen. So she not only is important to the plot, but she provides maybe the funniest scene in the flick when she's angry and yelling at the PI without a tounge. Brooke goes to Paradise to take down Bernsen. Teamed with Jamie, thay almost do just that. Jamie actually ends up shooting Bernsen like 30 times with a nail gun. The last shot in the flick is Bernsen driving with the top down and picking nails out of his head.

This one without a doubt gets Sid's seal of approval. It had everything you can want in a 90's B horror: an imposible to follow plot, a toungeless character trying to speak, a crazy blood-soaked Bernsen, plot holes, 2:43 of Clint Howard screen time, and a confusing plot. If you appreciate the awesomely terrible unintentional comedy of horror B, this one is for you.

Bersen again delivers in this movie. As I said for the first Dentist movie, he's a man you can trust. He then slowly goes mad and back to his killing ways. I loved the two movies and probably some of the most underrated movies in horror. Bersen does survive at the end but this was the end of the franchise. I guess people didnt want anther movie about Dentist. Who can blame them? The dentist around here are scarier.
