What's not to love about this piece? Very cute and my wife loved it as a gift this year and it looked great set up with the other pieces she has. It is well detailed and features internal lighting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erin Go Braugh!, October 23, 2011

This review is from: Department 56 Christmas In The City Molly O'Briens Irish Pub (Kitchen)
Molly McGuire's Pub is a tribute to Christmas rather than the Molly Maguires of 19th century PA. It is one of those great pieces from Department 56 that add to any Christmas tree. It is a "two-story" structure that includes a white power cord with a bulb and metal clasp at the other end and an off/on switch in between. A detachable lantern is separate from the tree that is easy to misplace. It should be packed carefully).

One of the great features of each Department 56 piece is that the bulb is attached to a hole at the bottom of the piece that allows the bulb to fit firmly inside with the aid of the clamp. It gives the impression that the building is lighted with people inside, and that it's a place where everybody knows your name. It gives it that warm glow that Germans call "Gemütlichkeit." Never finding bars or pubs my particular source of enjoyment, this one certainly provides it.

Department 56 also makes articles for Halloween and Thanksgiving, but there is no Gemütlichkeit during Halloween and Thanksgiving when dysfunctional families get together to recall old battles over who got what way back when. So this year we have decided to forego getting and decorating a Halloween tree and a Thanksgiving tree. It's too much work. However, I heartily recommend this for Christmas festivities. It should definitely add to your Gemütlichkeit.
