I love all the details of this collection -- this was no different in terms of the structure but the lighting inside for the ghosts is a bright LED light -- good for special effect look but not great if you want a historic looking antique candlelite style village. Great piece if you are ok with the lighting. I returned mine.

Really unique set and well painted. 3D inner scene is awesome. Looks great at Christmas time and have received many compliments.

I bought this village piece to replace the one I had that our cats knocked off the display table back in 1998. I'm not sure that it's 100% the same as my old one but it's still a perfect fit in our display and I haven't had any problems with it (typical of all our Dicken's Village pieces).

This is a beautifully rendered building in the classic Dickens village style. I have only one complaint about this item. Because it attempts to portray the visitation of the three ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Future, Christmas Present, it does so in a large room on the second floor. The problem is the use of bright white light to provide a sense of the supernatural to the home. This bright white light was offensive to my eyes. With the rest of the entire village lit in a rather subdued amber sort of lighting more in keeping with the lighting of the period, the bright white light simply overwhelmed the entire display with its garishness. While I liked the building itself, I sent the item back because it just didn't look right when displayed with all the other Dickens Village structures.

A very nice addition to any dickens village.The animation and lighting make it more appealing than most of the other buildings in the series.You will love this piece.

The animation is interesting, but the light in the upper room is glaring and white-bright -- not at all like the warm glow of the lights in the rest of the village (I am using the bulbs provided by Dept 56 on all houses). It's a little off-putting, but everyone enjoyed the rotating scene. The scene itself looks like figures dancing, but they are the three ghosts. All in all, ok. When I use it next year, I'll see if I can mute the light a bit.

We had purchased this and a few other pieces from Department 56 in Victoria, Canada several years ago, but the mechanism stopped working and that was one of its best features. I didn't think I would be able to find a replacement for it, but I found one here at amazon.com.

Unfortunately, as I upended it to put some felt pads on the bottom, one of the firgures came loose. In trying to repair the last one, I had discovered how to take the mechanism out, so I performed the same procedure with this one and I was able to put the missing figure back into place. It is a tight fit, so it seems it must not have been put on securely in the first place. I secured the bottom with a little Elmer's Glue and it works perfectly, now.

A very nice piece. This was a gift for my son for Christmas. He requested this to add to his collection. He especially liked the animation of the three ghosts spinning around Scrooge in his upstairs bedroom.

It's a beautiful piece to our collection; however, we noticed that one of the ghosts is missing. The second floor has a revolving turntable with Scrooge and ghosts: we have 2 ghosts (not 3) and a bare post where the third ghost should be. We thought it might have gotten dislodged and fallen to the bottom. Then we discovered that the bottom is cemented shut and not only could we not get at a possible loose ghost, but we would not be able to change a burned-out light bulb in the future. Poor design of this model. We are attempting to contact the company for an exchange, since Amazon is out of stock.

I didn't realize there were moving characters (the ghosts and Scrooge) in the house until my wife opened it up and plugged it in. A new twist on classic product. I think I like it.
