I purchased this item as a Christmas gift to myself, to add to my collection of Dept 56 Dickens Village buildings, accumulated over the past 10 years or so. Although interesting and well detailed in appearance, this most recent addition is a disappointment, as it is inferior to those previously purchased, both in size and lighting. The last two buildings I've bought are discernably smaller in scale than the previous five. The light cord, on/off switch and insertion clasp are of poor quality compared to the older ones. In fact, the sharp metal blulb clasp snapped off when I tried to insert it, cutting my fingertips. I have contacted the distributer in Minnesota about this problem, but they have not responded. Sadly, this will be the last Dickens building added to my collection.

The light does not shine through as brightly as my other Dickens Village buildings. There aren't windows on one side and the ones on the front are very small.

This is a beautiful piece to add to your collection. As an architect, I always look for the village pieces I find to have interesting details and elements. The half-timbers, copper and slate roofs, and roof lines are what sold me on this one. It is finely detailed and well-made. The only negative thing I have to say about this is that light does not quite reach the tower windows. It may have been better if they had included an extension arm on the socket to raise the light within the building.

It is so cute------love the detail of the house. I haven't bought a house in a long time but this one caught my eye. Now they are making the back of the house more detailed and the light goes under the house.

I liked it, particularly the "copper roof of the corner tower". . I bought it as a present and the friend liked it.
