A package of two receivers, these can be used with any Department 56 Display Anywhere Lighting unit, either those factory installed in new buildings or the Retrofit Unit (each sold separately.) Only one remote control device is needed (sold separately.)

To answer the question posted by another reviewer. This is how it all works.

If you dread getting out all your Dept 56 Villages and running wires to them using a maze of extension cords, then you might like this product.

1. You have to buy a 53501 Display Anywhere Lighting Retrofit Unit for each lighted building. The Retrofit kit makes one building lighted using batteries and the push button on the kit.

2. You have to buy one 53502 Display Anywhere Lighting Remote Control Starter Kit which gives you the remote and the receiver for one building.

3. You take the receiver in the Starter Kit and hook it to the Retrofit Unit.

4. Now when you push the button on the remote it turn the lights on any building that have receivers and Retrofit kits.

Completely remote and wireless operation of as many buildings as you have retrofit units and receivers.

Receivers retail for $10.00 each and the retrofit units are $17.50.

You only need one starter kit.

It does not get any easier than that. We have sold hundreds of the retrofit units and the receivers so we know they work.

If you do not mind going around and pushing the buttons on each of the retrofit units you don't need the Starter Kit to get the wireless operation.

This is a wonderful product that saved so much time when I built a village this Christmas. You will need a remote receiver for each building you want to light but you only need one remote to turn all the buildings on at once. I can't wait until that come up remote controls for all the accessories too! The only drawback is that the lights are much cooler (as in color) than the warm original lights. They just look whiter instead of yellow in color. I will buy these for all my houses next year!

See the Remote Starter Kit that has the transmitter and one of these receivers. I reviewed that item as a great idea that doesn't deliver. This item is just additional receivers for that kit that aren't going to help you either unless you have the necessary connections.

If anyone knows how this is supposed to work, I'd like to know about it. No information comes with the kit or the additional receivers. I couldn't get an info from Dept 56 website or dealers either.

Disappointed as it's a wonderful idea.
