I have purchased two separate starter kits, thinking something was wrong with the first one. I have retrofit Display Anywhere lighting kits in several of my Halloween buildings. They work great. But in some places I'd rather not have to reach around a building to turn it on. So I thought this was the perfect solution. I also have two buildings with built in Display Anywhere Lighting. I followed directions, took out the battery units, attached the receiver, reinstalled the battery units and...nothing. Neither of the remotes I purchased worked. I am at a loss. I thought maybe it was the type of batteries I was used. I tried every brand, even used expensive lithium batteries just in case. Still nothing. I have emailed Dept 56 in desperation. I have even converted some buildings back to corded bulbs because I can turn those on/off with one power strip. I am hoping that Dept 56 gives me an answer I can use. But for right now, don't bother with this product. As far as I can tell, it does not do what it is supposed to do.

This is a very confusing item. And very little is written anywhere on the use of this product, including the Dept 56 website. Apparently it works with houses that have the Display Anywhere connector.....and I haven't found any of those either.

I contacted several dealers of Dept 56 merchandise and got very little information.

Again, a great idea.....I would willing purchase additional receivers for all my houses if this only worked like I thought it would.

It would have been very helpful if Dept 56 had clear descriptions of what the item is used for and how to use it.

For now it is packed away hoping it will be useful down the road if Dept 56 items can use it.
