Book Description

June 1, 2006
Award-winning novel Department of Corrections is about a young, investigative journalist who discovers far more than he ever intended when he delves into the privatization of our nation's prison systems. As he gets closer to the truth, it nearly costs him his life and all he holds most dear. Nothing is ever what it seems. You will never view the "War on Drugs" and our nation's penal institutions the same again. Are there alternatives, and why do we not hear about them? The lines between fiction and nonfiction blur in Department of Corrections.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read from a talented author, July 11, 2008
This review is from: Department of Corrections (Perfect Paperback)
Having quickly perused through this book,, I can say that it is a truly enjoyable read. The author's ability to draw believable characters in realistic situations is extremely impressive, considering the subject matter. If you like mystery, drama, or crime novels, this book is for you. If you like interesting perspectives on political topics, this book is for you. If you think that tougher prison sentences will solve the crime rate, this book is ESPECIALLY for you.
The plot for this book is ingenious, something that only an honest existentialist could think up (wink). Everyone that has read the book has went away impressed with the skill of this self-published and self-made author.
By the way, if you are looking for a good book to read aloud to little ones, you ought to check out his one of his other works, Domino. It's great for kids. As for me, I'm planning on reading some of his short stories.
