I really love this show. I was a little skeptic about it and so when it first came out i didn't watch it because i didn't think it would be interesting but it came out on netflixs so i decided to give it a chance and in 3 days i watched the entire season. It was amazing!!! I feel for every character and love how it makes the audience really think about people what deaf people go through and how strong they are as a person. When they do sign language on the show I think its soo cool and i know for some people having to read the subtitles would be annoing but i don't mind and actually like it. My favorite character is Emmentt. Hes too cute and although he made a mistake i really don't think he wud ever do it again and is deserving of a second chance, which I know Bay will do. I love this show and wud encourage anyone anf everyone to watch it.

This is a really excellent series. The plots are close to real life and I love that I am learning sign language as I watch the series. I am very supprised at how much I enjoy this show.

This is such a good show I have no hesitation to pay the 1.99 an episode to watch it. I love that it is bringing more light to those that are hearing impaired and the struggles they go through on a daily basis.

I watch this series out of cultural fascination for the mix of so many elements: hearing, non-hearing, ASL, lip-reading, lack of communication, incorrect perceptions, defensiveness, compassion. Allowing the sign to be sub-titled with no affect of speech interjected or voice over is unique, refreshing and challenging for a non-ASL viewer. This element, deafness, is what takes this series beyond the normal, Disneyish teen drama. There is all of the angst and plot contrivances with one parent's infidelities as well as the competition and jealousies of peer groups in schools. But, being a hearing person versus being a non-hearing person reveals an entirely new component: the desperation on both sides to be understood, the clannish pride, self-protective, of the deaf, the impatience and mockery, at times, of deaf students versus hearing students, teenagers still going through all the yuck of teendom. There is this giant educational component in this series, but it is absorbed by the normalcy of parents, teens, upper class and working class life that lifts this series to a different realm. Well worth watching.

As ASL is the third most used language in the United States, it's about time we have a show with Deaf Culture. It's great how they are following true Deaf Culture. A must for all ASL students.

I love this show. When you miss it, or cant find it on netflix/hulu, you can purchase on Amazon Instant Video. A bit pricey at $1.99 per episode!! Better if you've only missed one or two episodes. The show itself is great though. I recently started watching and got addicted ... had to catch up on all episodes from Season 1 and 2

this show is one of the most wholesome tv shows I've seen out in a long time. Definitely worth watching and worth the purchase.
