This review is from: Depende (Audio CD)

Music that Makes you Fall in Love with Music, November 17, 2001
This review is from: Depende (Audio CD)
This is One of my all time favorite CDs, especially track number 6 "Agua". Everybody that I have played this song for tells me the same thing "Wow! What a powerful song". This song is about friends that have fallen in love, but because of life's circumstances can't be together and like the song says "Dejar que el Agua corra" ( let the water flow); it is so full of feelings. The whole CD is awsome. I own all of this groups CD's but this one is my favorite album. I recommend that you buy it so you too can enjoy quality music.

An Excellent Follow-Up by an Excellent Artist, October 11, 2000
This review is from: Depende (Audio CD)
This is one of the best cds that Spain has ever produced, and an excellent follow-up to Jarabe de Palo's first CD, La Flaca. This CD is somewhat more melancholy in tone, with some extremely emotional and powerful songs. There are many more slow songs than on La Flaca, but these are broken up by several songs indicating an influence from Salsa and mainstream latin, evident in Pura Sangre and Plaza de las Palmeras. But it is the slower songs that pack the punch. Songs such as Agua, Toca mi Cancion, or Te Miro y Tiemblo convey powerful emotion that further express the brilliance of Jarabe de Palo's musical skill. The album includes an eclectic mixture of music, from the title track, Depende, which is a phenomenal tune, to a duet with Cuban Celia Cruz. The qualities of Jarabe de Palo's unique voice seem to form on the songs and become his own entirely with a beautiful style and emotion.
