This review is from: BDI Deploy 9638, Tall Double-Wide Open TV Stand - Espresso Stained Oak (Electronics)
I really like the look of this TV stand. It's clean, unobtrusive, open-shelf (to keep the equipment breathing) and affordable. There are less expensive models out there, but nothing I could find that didn't scream "cheap". I was able to examine a similar model at a local furniture retailer and was satisfied with the build quality and design. BDi really is top of the line when it comes to home theater furniture design.
This arrived in a flat, very heavy (~180 lbs) box. Mine came strapped among three pallets, but YMMV. Needless to say, have some extra help no matter how far you have to carry this thing. (That way you won't have to unpack it on the sidewalk and carry it in piece by piece like I did.) Assembly is a piece of cake. Watch the video demo and you'll see it's extremely easy. It can take a little bit of time with the rubber glass cushions and the cable management straps, but once out of the box I had it together in under an hour. You need nothing more than an allen wrench. The wood appears to be solid oak, but it may just be oak veneer on plywood. The glass is heavy and, according to the BDi site, shatterproof. This thing is solid and heavy, so there's none of the shifting and wiggle you see with cheap furniture. If you like the look and price of this item, rest assured its build quality and materials are top-notch.
