"It is just one of those CDs you can listen to constantly...

About the Artist
Buddy Nielsen - Vocals Dave Miller - Guitar/Background Vocals Garrett Zablocki - Guitar/Background Vocals Mike Glita - Bass/Background Vocals Dan Trapp - Drums

Senses Fail will be the band to watch in the next couple of years. With intensely poetic lyrics, cutting drums, and faultless guitar melodies, Senses Fail vigilantly bridges the edginess of hardcore and the passion of punk rock together.

Forming in February of 2002, Senses Fail hails from Bergen County New Jersey. Following in the footsteps of many prospering New Jersey bands such as Saves the Day and Thursday, Senses Fail attempts to transcend the mediocrity of the present music scene in hopes to help rebuild a new one.

After a short break up, and a couple member changes, over the course of only a year Senses Fail has broken farther into the music scene than they could have ever imagined. With members: Buddy Neilson, Dave Miller, Garrett Zablocki, Mike Glita, and Dan Trapp all having prior band experiences, the music and band came together rather quickly.

Soon after their formation, Senses Fail started spreading a buzz throughout VFW halls and Small Clubs all throughout New Jersey. In March of 2002, the group headed into Nada Studios in New Windsor, New York with Producer John Naclerio to demo three songs, followed by three more songs a couple months later which was later released August 16 as the EP "From the Depths of Dreams" on ECA Records in Boston Massachusetts. Within a matter of a couple months the band went on to sell all 1000 copies of the EP that were pressed and began to gain a larger fanbase through online promotion and playing almost every weekend anywhere they could.

Only a couple weeks after the release date of the EP, the band began to gain interest from several record labels. The band then received an email and phone call from someone they could have only dreamed of signing to, Drive-Thru Records. A couple weeks after, Richard and Stephanie Reines (the Co-Owners of the Label), flew out to watch the band play and a contract was offered there after. Being fans of the label and of all their bands, Senses Fail gladly accepted their offer and inked a deal with Drive-Thru Records in the Fall of 2002.

The band currently has been playing tons of shows and spreading their music throughout the U.S. as well as gaining interest in many other countries. "From the Depths of Dreams" will be re-released on Drive-Thru records with new artwork and 2 bonus tracks. Senses Fail will be heading into the studio with producer Steve Evetts (Saves the Day, Homegrown), to record their debut full length due out late spring/early summer, followed by non-stop touring. No matter where you go or what music you listen to, Senses Fail will be the band of 2003 that you will be hearing about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, January 15, 2005
I love this CD. Its very well done for an EP. The lyrics are interesting. I like the way they blend the singing and screaming, because when all a band does is scream, it gets really boring. And its not that annoying type of screaming either. For the price, its a great value. I have had this CD for about a year now and I'm still not sick of it like I am with some others. Senses Fail's new CD 'Let It Enfold You' (its enfold, not unfold as some other reviewers had it) is also amazing. I promise you won't be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good addition to the already great drive-thru label., May 29, 2003
I listen to a vast variety of good bands. Everything from Thursday, down to All-American Rejects. I also enjoy the melodic-hardcore sounds of Hopesfall. Though, I must say that no band that I have heard even compares to Senses Fail. The best thing about this band, as far as presence, is that they are still up-and-coming. They haven't been ruined by MTV yet, as many bands have. I am a dedicated fan of Drive-Thru records. I think that Senses Fail is the best addition to the label they have ever made. This band is not even comparable to others, but if I were to compare, I would say that they are similar to Finch, though much harder, with even more intriguing lyrics. Definitely one of the best cd's I have ever heard. This cd would go well with Taking Back Sunday's "Tell All Your Friends" and Finch's "What It Is To Burn." This cd should also be coupled with Thursday in your cd player. This style is where pop-punk is headed, and from where I stand, that is a very good place. Best bet for you would be to go buy this cd, there's something for everyone to love in their music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh please stop the emo bashing, finally a DIFFERENT band, September 7, 2005
By Ross Bownes (Sheffield, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Hey there i'm from the UK and have been listening to Senses Fail and many other emo/screamo bands for years now. The thing that seprates these guys from all the other swept black hair wannabes is that these guys actually have something to say. They're not writing lyrics about broken hearts or kissing girls the lyrics are much deeper than that and come across as the words of a band who are both intelligent and a band who have fun doing what they do.

This EP especially is amazing, opening with Steven, the song the band wrote about their dead friend, very moody very well put just excellent. Similar stuff ensues until standout track 187 which is as close as Senses Fail get to conforming to their scene, even this beauty of a song is amazing and lyrics and drums are still predominant. Track 7 'Hanguns...' is my favourite track on the EP and just has the raw energy that so many generic emo bands are missing. The EP finishes off with the fantastic acoustic version of The Ground Folds which i think is even better than the original.

Basically if you like the genre of music you will be blown away by Senses Fail, if your some vegetating old grump then you'll hate it, go back to listening to Guns'N'Roses and all the othe bands that are either broken up or dead and move over, because this band are the future
