Epic, heavy, brutal deathcore.,

This review is from: Depths (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
I'm not a huge fan of the deathcore genre. It all sounds the same to me. Not only does Ocean break the mold, but it beats the living crap out of it. The production that went in to this album really shines through. There's really not much to say about this album other than I can listen to it all the way through without the urge to change songs. If you're a fan of heavy, brutal death metal, you would be a fool not to own this.

One reason to listen to Deathcore,
By C. Burnett "demon hunt" (Ok USA) - See all my reviews

Yes for all you deathcore haters, another deathcore band has come onto the
scene to lay waste to everything and everyone. The one exception to this is Chicargo's Oceano seem to have everything right.Lead by Adam Warren's brutal voice,Andrew Mikhail and Jeremy Carroll's shredding riffs,Daniel Terchin pounding double bass drumming, and finally Jason Jones droning bassline this band shows promise. The one thing that may turn people off would be how at some points Depths sounds a(n) awful like This Is Exile from Whitechapel.Don't let that turn you off from this metal gem by this talented young group's masterful debut.

This Cd Will Make You Go Crazy In A Good Way!,

Just from the first song on this cd, Inhuman Affliction I knew right from then this is my Whitechapel for 2009. I'm not saying Oceano sounds like Whitechapel, I am saying Oceano has the potential to be the Death Metal cd of the year. This band prepares me for destruction, and a must see live band in 2009. The cd will have you going out of your mind. This is a must have cd of 2009. If you don't have this cd you are missing out on the Death Metal cd of 2009.
