I love this Gentle Soothing Booster by Dermalogica. When my skin is red or irritated, this is a go-to product for me.

I love that this booster has botanicals in it and also that it is fragrance-free and oil-free. It does the job of a comforting balm but without that just slathered on feel you sometimes get from a heavy face cream. It is lightweight yet you feel it immediately as it soothes sensitivity and irritation away. This booster is almost like a serum; it's not watery but neither is it thick. It doesn't feel heavy or feel as if it's sitting on top of the skin. It feels more as if it's reaching under that top layer of skin and repairing, hydrating and calming the skin.

If your skin is red, dry or chapped due to wind or sun, this will soothe and calm your skin. Also, I like to use it when my skin becomes 'over-done' from any skincare products I may be using. You know when your skin is telling you that you may have used too much of a product or used something in the wrong combination? This soothing booster is just right to baby your skin and get things back to normal.

You can use this booster morning and night, and if needed, you can then put your moisturizer on top of it. I also like to use the booster after I've put on my make-up/powder. When my skin is peeling (due to exfoliation products), powder can really magnify this. So I put a few drops of the soothing booster on my fingertips and lightly pat it on any areas on my face that may look tight or flaky. And don't forget to tap a few drops along the crow's feet area. Also, this bottle is just the right size for your (TSA) airplane baggie. This booster will save your skin from dehydrating during your trip.

Try this product if you have dry, irritated skin due to climate; if you have oily but sensitve skin in need of calming hydration; if you are exfoliating or undergoing chemical peels/microderms; or if you have rosacea and your skin is easly inflamed or upset by other products. This booster is first-aid for all these conditions.

I have sensitive skin that's prone to redness - I find this product soothes my skin without feeling heavy. It also makes my moisturizer easy to apply. Would recommend.

I've struggled with my face for about 20 years now. Not acne, but dry patches that flake and peel. My face is always covered with red blotches of dead skin. I often have to Photoshop these patches out of my photographs because I'm so embarassed by them. I'd been to dermatologists and all I ever heard was "use Cortizone and Neutrogena." Cortizone is indeed helpful, but Neutrogena is too harsh. Almost any over the counter product will strip a sensitized face, like mine, and make in impossible to heal. I've tried everything. Even things that people with severe Eczema tout. Nothing ever worked.

Last night my skin was in bad shape. I was worried about how sickly I would look today at work, as I was representing my company at a convention. But Dermalogica saved me! Here's all I did:

I skipped using the Ultracalming Cleanser For Face & Eyes because my skin had already been washed enough with water. (I've learned not to cleanse with a product everyday if I don't wear makeup.) Instead I went straight to the Gentle Soothing Booster followed by Barrier Repair. That was all I did before going to bed. (I have also learned that the less product, no matter how 'good', the better for my sensitive skin.) I didn't expect anything to change by morning. I was wrong!

I awoke with NO PEELING and NO RED PATCHES! I can feel the spots that had been acting up, and they are still rough, but this was my first time using the Gentle Soothing Booster. Let me tell you, it works. I went the entire day without having to do anything to my face and it is still not peeling. After a few more uses I know my skin will be clear and smooth, and with continual use of Dermalogica products, I will finally have skin I can be proud of!
