I have combination skin but mainly oily skin and have had a difficult time finding a good mattifier. Not only does this mattify my face like it should, but it doesn't break me out like every other one has. I've tried some of the best, such as Shiseido, Peter Thomas Roth and a few other expensive ones from Sephora and none of them worked as well as this. I am so thrilled that I tried this product and would recommend it to everyone, especially those with sensitive skin. Love this product! ps, buying through Amazon made it so much cheaper than in my local day spa. :)

Keeps the shine away and helps keep skin clear of pimples. Sometimes I put too much on and it tends to peel off. Make sure your skin is totally dry too.

I am a 35 year old woman that has some mild acne problems. My skin will have that oily glow a few hours into my day - with this product it allows me to keep the shine to a minium. I apply about 1 inch line of the clear product to my T Zone before my makeup and it helps. Recommend to anyone that suffers from shine. I know that the product can be costly for some but the 1.3 oz size is a good amount and should last for quite some time.

I have a very oily t-zone and clogged pores because of it. I wash my face regularly and use toner, and I thought this would be a great addition to help me seal up my pores from the elements and control the shine. It works for about an hour, but then my face gets shiny. Also, the silicon doesn't block my pores from getting blackheads as much as I thought it would. The application process is weird as well, as when I smooth a thin layer on, it kind of "peels" or "rolls" off. It's quite expensive to work so ineffectively. It might work for those with less oily skin, but for very oily skin, not so much. I found that the Dermalogica SPF oil control works better for my shine. It's runny and smears when applied, but it does control my shine, and I like that it has SPF.

Horrible Allergic Reaction - would give zero stars if I could,

I used "Clearing Mattifier" once and woke up the next morning with a swollen face and a horrible rash on my neck. This was the only new cosmetic I used the day before, and I know it's the culprit. I'm rarely allergic to cosmetics, so I researched the ingredients. "Clearing mattifier" contains four different silicones, wax, and plastic (PTFE = teflon). The full ingredient list can be found on the Dermalogica website. Strange that the bottle doesn't mention silicones or PTFE. It also contains Propylene and Butylene Glycol. Lots of people seem to like this product, but I think Dermalogica needs to be more forthcoming regarding all of the synthetic and artificial ingredients they use. They proudly proclaim "No Artificial Fragrance or Color". Yet it's full of artificial silicones and plastic! I don't know which ingredient caused my allergic reaction, but maybe my experience will help others avoid the same.

This product is a godsend in the summer; your make-up will stay on and shine is eliminated.
Plus, it helps ease the redness and irritation in the blemishes while also helping to clear them up! I use it in the t-zone, only. Amazing! |
