5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely THE BEST over the counter eczema lotion!!!
I have had eczema my entire life - my hands would get so red and dry in the winter that they would bleed! - and I found nothing over the counter that would work. Sure the prescriptions helped - but they would give me a tiny tube that cost too much and lasted a week. Dermarest lotion (emphasis on "lotion" - I found the cream version they offer does not work as well) is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh, Go to the dermatologist instead
Okay. I bought this product because I had a small patch of dyshidrotic eczema on my finger. Apparently, dyshidrotic eczema is stress induced. Anyway, I tried the product on a Monday but I had a dermatologist appoint on that coming Friday in case the over the counter product didn't work. I was hoping this product would clear up my small patch of eczema on my finger before...

I have had eczema my entire life - my hands would get so red and dry in the winter that they would bleed! - and I found nothing over the counter that would work. Sure the prescriptions helped - but they would give me a tiny tube that cost too much and lasted a week. Dermarest lotion (emphasis on "lotion" - I found the cream version they offer does not work as well) is absolutely wonderful. I have told many family and friends about this product and everyone loves it. It even works on the children in the family (as our exzema is hereditary). Bottom line - it works, it's inexpensive and the size of the bottle will last you all winter!

5.0 out of 5 stars NOTHING works on excema like this..., April 12, 2007

...wonderful product. I've been through every coal tar gel, itch cream, you name it, and NOTHING makes excema and its ugly rough rash and irritating itch disappear overnight like Dermarest lotion. It's a smooth lotion that goes on cleanly and doesn't sting. In the morning, your baby skin is BACK. You will want to order a case!

I had what I considered a bad case of excema on my left hand and a little patch on my cheek. I went to the dermatologist, got some cream, it worked okay. I bought this product (Dermarest for Excema) and it cleared up in about a week. This stuff is the real deal, it works!!!!

I developed Eczema this spring..legs arms , everywhere but my face, I have used numerous prescribed creams , over the counter creams ...even used one that sent me to the emergency room ...thats on another review...I was desperate, I took allergy meds daily to deal with the itching , to the point where I know I was taking more than I should and I work in a hospital !!! Think I'd know better but I couldnt get any relief, one night I was at the drugstore and saw this product and thought okay whats one more cream ...having bought at least 20 different ones, two the night before...I used this product on a friday morning, been 1 week and havent taken any allergy meds, itching gone !!!! No welts, gone after 3 days, down to smooth skin, spots are dry and most at this point are just a light brown discoloration....and getting smaller....thank you I may even get to wear shorts this summer !!!!I went right back to that store and bought the rest that they had..I NEVER want to be without this product....you HAVE to try this ...you wont be sorry, Dermarest...thank you, you've given me my life back.....

I get flareups of eczema on one of my hands, and this is the only stuff that seems to control it. It hasn't completely gotten rid of the eczema on my hand but has VASTLY improved it. I recently bought a new bottle after having embarrassing eczema around my eyes, and it cleared it up in two days - it was an amazing improvement and the eczema around my eyes seems to be completely gone (at least for now) which is a huge relief. (Unsure if it's considered "safe" for the face, but I used it anyway - just be careful not to get it IN your eyes). I love this stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good...., December 3, 2009
This review is from: Dermarest Medicated Lotion, Eczema, 4 oz. (Misc.)
I have a 3yr old toddler. She scratches until she bleeds because of her eczema. She has dry patches on elbows and under her knees. I've currently been using Dove Sensitive, oatmeal baths (when it gets really bad), hydrocortisone cream, and Eucerine mixed with a little Jojoba oil. This seems to work well in the warm months but this winter has been really bad. I just bought this cream yesterday and this is the first night in a few months where she has not woken up to scratch. This morning I noticed a visible difference in her skin...it wasn't as irritated. And I have not seen a her scratch once today. I'll update again after a week but so far, I'm excited that this may work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Product!!, October 4, 2008
I have tried everything for my toddler's eczema from goats milk soap, to dead sea salts. One prescription I got from the dermatologist made her face swell and made her rash even worst. After one night of this product her skin was so much better and she did not wake up saying "itches". I used vanicream on the area's that were not as bad and this on the really red areas. I am glad I tried this product! Her eczema is almost cleared and she is happy again.

I've had a mild eczema on my finger for quite some time, allergic reaction to chemicals like soap and especially to water in certain states of the US. I've seen dermatologists who have recommended all kinds of crappy ointments.

Read the reviews here for this product, tried it and it has really helped me maintain everything under control - no other product came even close to the effectiveness of this one.

I ran across this product almost by chance. I was looking for another product and my eyes fell upon Dermarest for Eczema. I bought it thinking here's one more time I'm wasting my money. I have used every other product claimed to help eczema. I also visit my allergist regularly and have used a lot of prescription medications. I was so surprised to find that overnight it cleared up the flaking and cracking on my hands. I think it's the lotion that is added to the steroid. I am not cured by this, but relieved. My hands are still red in the areas where the eczema is, but at least they are not cracked and peeling as much. I usually apply the lotion and wear gloves at night and even during the day when I read the newspaper. This helps a lot!

1.0 out of 5 stars Did not work for me, December 5, 2011
This review is from: Dermarest Medicated Lotion, Eczema, 4 oz. (Misc.)
I have a more severe, weeping, oozing type of dishydrotic excema with visible blisters on my fingers along with itchy spots on the top of my hands and also on my legs (a little). I was hoping this would help with the blistering and oozing but it only stung and did not help at all. It did not stop any itching, either. I've already had many potent prescription topicals and none of them work.
