May Actually Reduce scars,
By Health Wiz (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Treatment (Misc.)
I noticed definite results as my scars began to fade slightly within the first week. As time went on, the scars were definitely lighter in appearance. They haven't gone away but it reduced them visably, its not surgery or a miracle but it helped.

I bought this a week ago and started using it right away. I find it doesn't dry at all though it claims it dries fast! I end up not using it regularly as directed because then it will stain my clothes. If I do cover it with a gauze, then it'll just be absorbed by the gauze not on my skin. I felt betrayed by this product. I will still use it though until I finish the whole tube after all, I don't want to waste spending money on this product and just throw it away in the trash. I still have little hope that it'll will reduce the darkness and thickness of my keloid scar.

Decent Results - Doesn't Dry Well, Ruins Clothes,
By Lori W. "Cow" (CA) - See all my reviews

I bought this at my plastic surgeons office for breast augmentation scars, as well as a large scar on my arm (about 6 inches). Although I read it won't stain, it isn't greasy and dries fast. I'd strongly disagree with all 3. It stays how it does when you put it on, 12..yes, TWELVE hours later it's still feeling oily, doesn't seem to ever dry, and ruined a $50.00 bra (which I had dry cleaned, and the oil stains still didn't come out). I'd highly recommend putting something over it, because my bras and long sleeve shirts were left with permanent oil stains on them from this product.
I didn't notice much of a difference from using it, to be honest. I think even without using it, I'd have noticed the same changes. I'll keep using it since I was bent over on the price and may as well use it. But I cover it up now with the coated gauze pads (the ones that have the slick top layer). I called to inform them and their customer support woman told me it's my fault for not covering it up if I had concerns. I said I initially had no concerns as it's supposed to dry fast, not be greasy and not stain. Next time, I'll ignore the box and cover it up. Oh well! The scar strips (Scar Away) seem to be inferior to this, I ended up having some swelling after using them and a pretty bad rash. Plus, the silicone tends to rip off and stay on the plastic you peel them off of. So I would say this is better than that stuff. I think I may just get them lasered off and save myself the pain!

I like it BUT, it's a bit too expensive...,

I've used Dermatix Ultra consistently for about 6 months. I have raised scarring on my chest and was hoping for something to aid in the discoloration of the scars, a cessation of the burning sensation associated with raised scars, and possibly the flattening of my raised scars. This gel was successful in treating the burning/stinging sensation that I experience through my scars, however, this I feel, can be achieved through consistently using any sort of silicone based scar gel. So far, I've used Dermatix Ultra (the most expensive), Kelocote (average priced), and New Scar Therapy Topical Gel (very cheap). While there is a noticeable difference in the quality of this gel from the cheapest one I've used, I think at the end of the day, the cost was not worth the (lack of) results. I'm moving on to silicone based patches in hopes for better results.
