This definitive reference provides easy access to essential and authoritative clinical guidance on the full range of dermatologic entities encountered in today's practice. It delivers more comprehensive coverage of clinical adult and pediatric dermatology, drug therapy, dermatologic surgery, and pathology than you will find in any other single text. Thousands of helpful illustrations equip you with the visual guidance you need to arrive at confident diagnoses.
  • Discusses pathologic entities in proportion to their incidence, enabling you to focus on the likeliest diagnoses for a given set of symptoms.
  • Includes only the "need-to-know" basic science information and key references, so you have just the right amount of detail on every subject.
  • Presents hundreds of full-color photographs depicting every type of skin disorder, along with a wealth of diagrams that clarify complex concepts and numerous algorithms that expedite decision making.
  • Presents more "high-yield" information in restructured chapters, as well as expanded coverage of rarities - now displayed in table format - without increasing the extent of the book.
  • Includes additional images covering more conditions, for enhanced reference power.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This spectacular edition is for folk who have a major interest in dermatology. If you are a specialist, this would be a superb addition to your personal library. Primary care doctors with a special interest in dermatology would also hugely benefit from this major reference source. The two volume books are magnificently produced with excellent colour reproductions of images. The volume of information here is immense, detailed and scholarly and has an almost encyclopaedic review of the discipline. A superb, detailed, all encompassing mega dermatology book, that comes with an all frills website. I thoroughly enjoyed this book." Univadis, October 2008 "This is an excellently produced and comprehensive view of skin disease and its management. It is very well-illustrated with first class examples of clinical and histological features of skin disease and the text is well-complemented by computer drawings and clear tables. It is all too easy for a classic to become dated but this one remains fresh and of great value to all those who encounter skin problems in their everyday practice as well as to the dermatologist or specialist dermatology nurse." BMA Book Awards 2008 - Highly Commended

"This is a valuable, comprehensive textbook that is a worthwhile addition to any dermatologist's library.the book covers the entire spectrum of the dermatology subspecialty, including basic science, dermatopathology, clinical dermatology, and dermatologic surgery. the brilliant organization is the best thing about this book, which makes it easily accessible and user-friendly, whether for detailed perusal or the quick check during a busy clinic." - Doody's 4 Stars ****, May 2009

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST DERMATOLOGY BOOK EVER !!!, June 6, 2004
By
"drnatarajan" (Chennai , INDIA.) - See all my reviews
Good bye ROOK , The most compact dermatology textbook containing ALL the information within 2 vols is finally here. The book can be said to be the dermatology counterpart of Medicine's Kumar and clark .It has flow charts which help you understand and diagnose various conditions .It also has lots of tabular columns which give you all the facts about a topic (eg ,indications of methotrexate or screening tests done before starting methotrexate for psoriasis )in one single table which makes it very easy for you to retreive what you want in a glance.

The book also has lots of photos about common and rare diseases .The text is easy to read (flows ).This book fills a long felt vacuum among dermatologists of a standard textbook containing all the information ,which is easy to read and yet compact and handy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Overall Dermatology Text Book Also Available Online, September 28, 2004
For the past 6 months I have been reading the best overall text book on any subject I have ever studied for the past 24 years: Dermatology by Bolognia. What I like about this book: the chapters are clearly written and well illustrated. The information is useful, very well organized, clinically relevant, and fairly complete. Chapters cover medical derm, cosmetic derm, and surgical derm. The book is replete with useful tables. Best of all, there is an online version available with the purchase of the books, which allows one to easily print out copies of chapters for reading on the train, etc. Kudos to Bolognia et al. I plan to read every chapter a couple of times before I graduate!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book, bad service, February 21, 2008

This review is from: Dermatology: 2-Volume Set, 2e (Bolognia, Dermatology) (Hardcover)
These are great books.

Unfortunately I had to order them twice from Amazon.

First time only received Vol 1 (even though this is a two volume set!!!) and then had to hear that I cannot be sent vol 2, and second time the order was lost.
