4 STAR DOODY'S REVIEW!
"This is an excellent textbook of dermatopathology in a highly competitive field."--Doody's Review Service

For virtually every kind of skin lesion, this skill-sharpening resource has everything you need to successfully perform differential diagnosis at the microscopic level. Dermatopathology features a systematic, algorithmic approach that cuts through the complexity of the discipline’s traditional disease-oriented focus, providing a ready-to-use diagnostic tool that puts the entire world of dermatopathology into perspective.

The book’s vast scope encompasses all skin disease processes—inflammatory, non-inflammatory, infections, and proliferations (harmatomas, hyperplasias, and neoplasms, plus disorders of nails and oral mucosa).

5.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive dermatopathology reference; easy to read., October 20, 1998
By A Customer
It took quite some time for me to choose a dermatopatholgy reference. Most of my fellow pathology residents have been using Lever's book, mainly because that's what we have available. I decided to go out on a limb and try this brand new book. I'm quite glad I did. This book is a pleasure to use. It is well written and beautifully illustrated. My only criticism is that the index and table of contents could be more helpful. By the way, my colleagues are also glad I purchased this book. I hardly get to see it anymore!

5.0 out of 5 stars well written, informative, great reference, March 1, 2011
By
Sam (the Big Apple, USA) - See all my reviews
The new, revised edition is simply excellent! Compared to previous editions, this third edition has been completely revised and rewritten to include a wealth of new information that has been publicized in peer-reviewed journals since the previous edition came out. It is well organized, well written, informative yet concise, and full of high quality color photographs with excellent descriptions and charts that simplify many complex subjects and comparisons. This textbook is a superb reference book for a dermatology practice or an academic dermatology or pathology department in a major medical academic setting, and belongs in the library of any major medical institution or busy derm or path practice. The field of dermatopathology has expanded tremendously in the past five years with the development of new laboratory techniques and a wealth of new information pertaining to many skin diseases, some of which are themselves only recently described, and the new edition is entirely updated to include the latest information. Written for attendings, medical specialists, fellows, residents, PhD's, and medical students, the third edition is an excellent review and contains hundreds of new, recent primary sources for further reading into areas of interest. The book summarizes the latest advances in the field, covering clinical presentation and features, diagnostic testing, newer diagnostic lab techniques, histologic appearances, and differential diagnoses of major skin diseases seen in an academic dermatopathology lab. Highly recommended for the serious, established or aspiring dermatologist or pathologist.
