William5 Heard (1746-1808), an early settler of Ash Point near Rockland, Maine, and his wife Abigail Crockett (1754-1841) are the ancestors of a large number of families still in the area. Charles Candage expanded a portion of his much larger Heard-Hurd Genealogy to follow as many descendants, in both the male and female lines, as is possible. Readers familiar with the Heard-Hurd book will find the detailed records of this particular branch of great interest.
A new Every Name Index will give the reader ready access to the 301 different families covered in this book. Although this reprinted edition has been reformatted, cutting down the size from the original edition, all material from the earlier printing is contained here.
