Passible, save one fatal flaw,

This review is from: Descente 2009 Supreme Cycling Gloves - Black/White - 70025bkwh (Misc.)
I picked these up from the clearance rack at REI, mostly out of desperation, since I can't find a decent glove anywhere these days. First, the good stuff. They don't numb your hands, the white sticky rubber stripes on the heal of the hand really help keep your hands on the bars when you hit those nasty potholes on steeply descending switchbacks or even city rim-benders. The closure system is on the top side of the gloves - which allows you to adjust the closure tightness as your hands swell during a ride - and can be adjusted with your teeth while climbing. They might also hold closed better in a fall, and that little tab of "leather" on the bottom side is great for pulling the gloves on.Now for the bad. The workmanship is horrible, the materials cheap, and saving the worst for last, the thumb-web area will cause pain and blistering in a couple of hours. I rode the Canyon Classic Mt Hamilton ride with these and came home badly blistered as so much of that climb is done holding onto the brake blocks while standing. This is due entirely to having 6 seams, all sewn on the inside of the glove, come together in the thumb web. Imaging some 60 grit sandpaper on your brake blocks and then riding with no gloves. Same effect! In the supplied photos, notice the sloppy zig-zag stitching holding the gel that pads your first knuckles in the glove. Do you even believe this passes for "production" quality??? Oh, and as bad as the photos show the thumb web area to be, I used a very sharp scissors to trim that "leather" VERY carefully before taking these pics. If you read my Pearl Izzumi Attack glove review, where I recommended turning gloves inside out before you buy them, I think the pics make clear why I am making that suggestion. 2115|R3A5UID0OSYITC;
