5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for all music catalogers., April 4, 2000

This review is from: Describing Music Materials: A Manual for Descriptive Cataloging of Printed and Recorded Music, Music Videos, and Archival Music Collections : For Use With Aacr2 and Appm (Soldier Creek Music Series) (Paperback)
Smiraglia presents a well organized guide to cataloging music scores, sound recordings, video recordings, interactive multimedia and music archival material. The first five chapters explain the description process of each format where all pertinent rules and cataloging decisions (AACR2, LCRI, MCDs) are brought in to one place for each format. Additional chapters concetrate on access points and uniform titles. Smiraglia has created an easy to use reference work that has become the standard for all music catalogers.
