1.0 out of 5 stars Item is in Spanish
LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table

Item is in Spanish. There wasn't enough info that it was a Spanish version only. I was told to keep the product but doesn't help the baby who is taught to speak english. I still had to pay for s&h. Not a learning item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely correct - Real Academia de la Lengua Espanola, October 1, 2004
This review is from: Descubrimesa (Learning Table) (Toy)
The letters that this version is "missing" are absolutely correctly not included in accordance with the Real Academia de la Lengua Espanola (the institution aimed at monitoring the proper use of Spanish language). In the 90's the letters "ch", "ll" and "rr" were deleted from the Spanish language alphabet. Therefore, the only difference between the English and Spanish alphabets is the "n", which is included on this toy.

If that is not how you choose to teach your child, and prefer to use a more historical alphabet, that is fine. However, the toy is not currently academically incorrect at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy, April 25, 2004

I bought this for my 6 month old daughter and she loves it. It sings the alphabet and numbers. It plays music and lights up. Does more than i thought and the buttons are easy for my daughter to push. The legs detach so your child can play with sitting or lying down on thier belly. Then you can add the legs later when they can stand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Table! - Leap Frog makes excellent toys, October 9, 2004
This review is from: Descubrimesa (Learning Table) (Toy)
I bought this toy for my 16 month old baby and she loves it. It is a fun musical toy as well as a learning toy. I like that it teaches simple concepts: opened-closed, up-down, etc. in Spanish. I want toys to reinforce the Spanish she learns. I have bought many LeapFrog toys and they all have been good, but my baby is not as interested in some. It also offers different sounds, some with more complicated sounds than your typical baby toy. The only two negative aspects I found is that the purple door came off easily, and that some times at night, the toy starts playing music all on its own, without touching it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toy for Baby!!, October 22, 2004
This review is from: Descubrimesa (Learning Table) (Toy)
I bought this for my son last Christmas when he was 8 months old. He is now 18 months old and it is still his favorite toy. He loves all of the musical sounds, and now that he is older, he likes to turn the page and knows which things to play with to hear the alphabet or number songs. I would recommend this to anyone with a child between 6 and 12 months. They will definitely use it for a long time!

I have been really pleased with the Descubrimesa, which we bought for my baby's first birthday. She had pretty much outgrown her beloved Leapfrog Learn & Groove Activity Center so I wanted to get her a similar item that would not confine her. I was really glad to find this Spanish-language toy. The voice is that of a native Spanish speaker (some other items I looked at were not voiced by native speakers, and only had a few words in Spanish), and the songs are catchy and hold my baby's attention. She has gotten a lot of use out of this toy. Before she could walk well, she used it to practice her standing skills while she flicked the switches and made the music play. The only thing I would comment on that could use some modification is the purple lid that lifts and lowers -- it is not terribly secure so that my baby was able to pull it off almost immediately. However, it is designed in such a way that it did not break, so maybe that is why it's easy to pull off. My baby loves to carry the lid around with her. It is the first thing she reaches for when she plays with the table. I'd much rather have it removable and reattachable than broken, that's for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toy In The House, December 8, 2006
This review is from: Descubrimesa (Learning Table) (Toy)
My daughter loves this toy. We opened the box when she was 6 months old and she hasn't stopped playing with it since. Yes the songs will haunt you parents but your children should benefit from it. My daughter learned to roam around this toy on her feet and test her balance from this table. She likes to raom around it while standing and try all of the features and has shown recall while improving her motor skills. While we must supervise any child closely at 6-9 months, we stay close in case she loses balance but she has pulled herself up on this and has stayed on her feet and played with it from day one. My daughter loves making music and hearing words and is putting together good recall on how to cause the sound she wants to hear. I suggest that this is an outstanding toy for a 6 month plus baby and will remain a popular toy in our house for some time. The features are great, the learning tools are good and it is fun for my child always.
Go buy it!!

My 8 month old son loves this table. He likes to stand and use all of the functions on the table. His favorite is turning the "page" which is also the toggle between spanish and music. I have to say that the music is his favorite and the spanish may confuse him. However, if you plan on teaching your child spanish, this is a great tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars ENTERTAINS FOR HOURS, August 14, 2005
By
This review is from: Descubrimesa (Learning Table) (Toy)
I first gave this table to my son when he was 5 months old (without the legs attached), and he doesn't get tired of it. Now at 8 months (with the legs attached) he stands by himself and plays with it for the longest. He loves flipping the book page. I would highly recommend this toy.
