What a wonderful learning experience. With beautifully illustrated scenes of desert life, a perfect way to introduce children to the experience....the lifelike illustrations jump out at you with their canny true to life realism.

This book is not just A - apple, B - ball. It gives detailed descriptions of plants and animals in the desert. This is a great book to read if you want to find out a liitle bit about the desert. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 4.

This is a beautifully written and illustrated book. Elementary educators can use it to enhance any teaching about the desert and its plant and animal life. Parents and grandparents will enjoy reading it to the children in their families and may learn something new, as well.

I had seen a good lesson plan using this book which was proving impossible to find in high street books shops so finding it on Amazon was fab. Great pictures and informative text.

I love Jerry Pallota's Alphabet book series. They are exciting and interesting as well as always throwing in some fun zinger or two. This book can reinforce the alphabet for student who are a bit shaky in their understanding but always appeals to those students who are animal geeks among us. The most obscure animal can be covered in these books and you can learn a lot about them. I thought it was a good way to teach about the desert too. At least the hot deserts, there are no cold deserts in this book.
