4.0 out of 5 stars Desert Desire
I didn't know what to expect when I watched this film for the 1st time, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Sure... no big stars, no huge budget, or special effects, but what this film had was heart and a lot of FUN. A good film offering a temporary escape which a quality film can do. I am not sure if the film is out on DVD yet, but this film is worth the video...

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly dreadful
The movie is poor in every sense but what is truly dreadful is that someone has stuffed the reviews to make it look like an extraordinary film. Like most people, I guess, I actually look at the reviews before buying or renting a film. The 5 star reviews of this film are so out of touch with the reality of the product that it makes me begin to question the validity of...

I found the short highly entertaining. It kept me guessing till the end; I really didn't see the twists coming. Some beautiful cinematography and high quality acting. Good stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Playful & Campy, April 10, 2009

Randomly clicked on this movie, and after a slow start, found it to be very amusing. Cinematography was much better than expected, and the backdrop of the forgotten Route 66 town had a very cool Americana vibe. Plot maybe had some holes, but the twists kept me guessing and the characters were engaging. Costumes (or lack thereof haha) were obviously chosen by a guy, but fit with the campy feel of the movie. Little girl was too cute - looking forward to her starring role in the sequel. Great new short film, definitely worth the view.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shades of Hitchcock, April 6, 2009

Rusting Studebakers caught my eye in the preview of Desert Desire. What the heck, perhaps more of those old hulks in that dusty old town if I pop for $1.99 to see the video. Instead of more Studebakers, what I found was a delightfully improbable tangle of a con-in-training: a youthful climber advancing from the dimes of her lemonade sales to a wagon-load of bank-heist cash. In her wake - leaving the detritus of her good fortune in the dust - all the drama and elements of a Hollywood psychological thriller: money, sex, greed, deceit, and more - with all its scheming twists and turns. Comedy, tragedy, spoof? One wonders. Whichever way, delightful entertainment.

Engaging short video...I have followed most of the work of Wiley Watts
over the past years. This video shows remarkable advancement in content,
casting and production. I am anxious to view his next film for similar
progress.

5.0 out of 5 stars OSCAR WORTHY!!!!, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Desert Desire (Amazon Instant Video)
My girlfriend and I rented this film late at night expecting it to be an "adult" movie. Although it turned out not to be what I wanted the plot, acting, and cinematography was so in line with what I was expecting it kept me guessing all the way to the credits!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You Won't Close This Book, April 17, 2009

OK, it's B-Movie from the start, but you won't close this book till the end. Swiftly paced, perfect location selection and well shot, certainly worth a 7-day rental.

Great short movie. Script, characters and acting keeps you guessing until the end. For this story line filming in widescreen on Old Route 66 is the perfect format and location. Ole' Roy certainly has it too good, wonder if he needs a partner counterfeiting green backs out in the desert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wiley Watts Cracks Me Up!, April 8, 2009

The video was awesome. Not only did it keep you guessing, the production quality was exceptional and dialogue was hillarious.
Who is this Wiley Watts guy - the actor who played Roy, the gas station owner? He had the rugged good looks of Michael Parks, the edginess of a young Paul Newman, and the down-to-earth "keeping it real" personna of Bruce Willis.
And although Mr. Watts stole the show, the entire cast was excellent! I especially liked the two hot babes and the sweet little girl. All seemed very natural and believeable. The wardrobe of the two leading ladies really got my attention. Who ever was responsible for casting those two young ladies really hit the nail on the head. I've also got a hunch, we'll see the pretty little girl again - maybe in something produced by Steven Spielberg or directed by Clint Eastwood.
I don't want to give away the twist at the end of the movie, but I can forsee another little wrinkle that would set the stage for a follow on full-length film.
Please keep such high-quality, imaginative videos coming.

Well... looks like Angelica and LaVerne had a plan. A very entertaining short movie
that hits the spot for short term viewing. Very well scripted and photographed.
Hopefully there is another installment on the way, as the delightfully devious pair
should be primed for a new adventure. I give it a high ranking with appreciation
for what it takes to produce a film of this caliber going Indy. Nice Job!
