I recommend this to anyone in search of a great moisturizer. My order came fast, they made sure to tape the cap of the bottle and placed it into a ziploc which was then placed into a box with biodegradable packing peanuts and my order-receipt. Would order from them again.
One is organic and the other is 100% pure. They are slightly different.
The organic has a funny odor. It kind of smells like used cooking grease. A little unsettling but the smell is not strong and I use it only on my body and hair at night (then take a shower in the morning).
I use the 100% pure oil on my face to moisturize. There is no smell at all.
The oil in general is great. It doesn't have a greasy feel on my skin.
When I use it on my face right after I wash it, I put two drops all over my face. It feels soft and clean. I have acne prone skin and this oil doesn't make me break out. That is a big factor for me because throughout the day my face gets really greasy and gross and then I start to break out. The oil feels light on my face and makes my skin soft and healthy. Sometimes I accidentally put too much on and my face and becomes definitely shiny so I just take a blotting sheet and take off the extra shine but no harm done.
When I use the organic oil on my skin and hair, After I take a shower and my hair dries, it is soft and manageable. I really like it a lot. There is a difference in using it. When I do not use it and go about my daily routine, my hair feel drier.
I have been using this for about a month and I like it a lot.
I would probably go with the 100% oil because it is odorless
Note this exact same review is on the organic one too but I just wanted to place my review on both so that i can reach more people.
My wife asks me to do further research since we wanted to use it for our newborn. Newborns have absorbent skins and soak up all chemicals/toxins in clothes and lotions so we try to get organic.
I contacted the manufacturer Desert Essence and gave them the manufacturing batch number (at the bottom of the bottle. They said Amazon is not an authorized re-seller and that it was NOT organic.
If you Google the re-seller you'll find more complaints.
This looks like fraud to me. I spoke with Amazon and they were very helpful. The product is being returned.

But back to the Jojoba oil. I use it to prep my natural hair for nightly twists and to massage my scalp. I also use it from head to toe after a shower, and I rub a drop of it on my face after washing it in the morning. I added a few drops of Tea Tree oil and essential Rosemary oil to my bottle for added stimulation, and it also improves the scent. It makes a wonderful aromatherapy carrier oil. I recommend that others who are concerned about the smell to add a few drops of essential oil, like Orange Essence, Lavender, or Rosemary, to change the scent.
Natural is the way to go. It's amazing how much we pay for products that have Shea Butter, Jojoba oil, Olive oil and the like in them. Just use pure Shea Butter, Jojoba oil and Olive oil and the like instead and you will not only save money, your skin and hair will reward you with beautiful, glowing health.
I'm going to include a blog entry I wrote on the Long Hair Community-
If you are looking for something to add moisture into your scalp or achieve stronger healthier hair, this is the stuff you need to get! It can be used on any hair type, but is especially good for brittle and dry hair.
Jojoba (ho-HO-ba) Oil comes from the seeds of a shrub (Simmondsia chinenisthat) that is found in northwestern Mexico and the southwestern United States. Although it is called an oil, it's technically a liquid wax or a wax ester. Of all of the compounds in nature, Jojoba Oil is the most similar to human skin oil (sebum). It's hypoallergenic, non-irritating and non-comedogenic. It also contains vitamin E and has antibacterial and antioxidant properties. No wonder Jojoba Oil is one of the most used ingredients in hair products!
For the Scalp -
Jojoba Oil seals in lasting moisture to your scalp without leaving an oily residue. It balancing PH levels and strengthens you hair follicle shafts to promote stronger and healthier hair with less shedding. It also helps control the sebum production of the scalp, effectively balancing the natural oil's your body makes and preventing dry scalp flakes (commonly mistaken for dandruff).
Dandruff is caused by a fungal or bacterial infection and can be contagious. If you have large, greasy or waxy flakes that are yellow or grayish that is dandruff. If the flakes are white and smaller it is just dry scalp (very common).Read more ›
