From School Library Journal
Gr 1-3--These two titles are well presented and colorful. Large type and simple texts accompany vivid, full-color photos of the animals and their surroundings. A brief overview of the habitat is followed by a two- or three-page look at some of the mammals found there. Desert discusses camels, kangaroo rats, Pallid bats, antelope jack rabbits, and addaxes, while Grasslands describes African elephants, prairie dogs, giraffes, aardvarks, and kangaroos. Bibliographies include Web sites and CD-ROM titles about related subjects, but the information about the CD-ROMs is vague and the products might be difficult to locate. Because of the general nature of these titles, report writers will need to seek additional information elsewhere. Attractive but supplemental purchases.

Review
"These additions to the True Books: Animals series offer a lot of information despite the books' compact size."
