5.0 out of 5 stars This is the funniest movie I have ever seen!
Ok, so I know it's not listed as a comedy, but I mean this thing is up there with Wedding Crashers. If you and your friends are looking for some good old fashioned gut busting comedy, this is the movie for you. It opens with sequences from Navy Seals but as Charlie Sheen turns toward the camera it cuts away. Later on during some critical air to air battles, plane crashes...

I didn't even watch all of this movie because it was so bad. The one thing i did notice in the opening rescue scene was that most of the footage was from the 1990 Charlie Sheen movie Navy Seals which is a much better movie.

This movie was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It had no plot and no story line. The actors were terrible and so were the special effects (all in consideration that the movie was made in 1998).

If it is posible I would like to ask the director for the 87 minuets of the my life back, that I wasted watching that stupid movie. (I even hate the name "Desert Thunder")

Today, a few of my friends and I went to the video store to rent a DVD to enjoy. We saw this on the shelf and thought it looked good. Boy, were we ever wrong! I do not believe in writing a review after seeing the movie only half way through, so I didn't turn it off. As much as I wanted to, I chose not to, because I thought it would affect my review. But I wish I did shut it off! If I could, I would ask the director to give me back that 80-some some odd minutes of my life back! Everything has gone bad for this picture. Bad acting, script, special effects, it's all terrible. I highly advise you not to rent this movie. You will be a happier person for doing so.

Roger Corman has done better. This Jim Wynorski film comes complete with poor acting, poor visuals, bad scripting and bed character development. Daniel Baldwin was unrealistic in his role as a military colonel. None of the characters seemed to have the military presence needed for their role in this film except for Stephanie Haiduk and Tim Abell, who occasionally looked genuine. The flying provided some scenic views, but the combat scenes were fake looking. As soon as the pilot presses the button, the target explodes. There is no time in between launch and hit. You weren't even shown the missiles travelling through the air.

The movie is roughly 85 minutes and the DVD comes in Pan & Scan format with trailers for other Corman films and includes cast biographies. There is no booklet or card in the DVD case. The only enjoyment one could get from this film is if you are a Baldwin fan and substance is not required in your viewing.

1.0 out of 5 stars DESERT BLUNDER, December 29, 2000

Good thing I didn't pay for this DVD. This movie was a waste of my time. The Baldwin guy is given a job to stop a mad man from launching a missle. He puts together a crew to fly aircraft and prepair them for battle. This movie is low budgit and corny. When they fire at eachother you hear the gunshots but when they hit the person they die with no blood on them not even a bullet hole on their shirt.

Later on during some critical air to air battles, plane crashes from the Iron Eagle movies are litered throughout and it even has some of the most amazing cockpit scenes ever shot in someone's backyard. Daniel Baldwin upstages his much, much more famous acting brethren in his masterpiece performance. I haven't seen acting this good since Baldwin did Active Stealth.
The special effects in his movie are absolutely mind blowing. They remind me of the opening credits in that Saturday morning show "Hang Time." You know the one where Dick Butkis was a high school basketball coach and they let a girl play on the team? In the opening sequence it shows highlights from their games and as the girls shoots the sequence jumps automatically to the ball swishing through the hoop, which is kind of odd because it drops straight down, but no big deal. But then, the black kid who can jump out of the gym slashes through the lane for a dunk and as he's about to slam it home, the ball is shown dropping straight down through the hoop. Excellent. If you have the time and money to spend, this movie is for you.

This was the worst movie I have ever seen. I am very suprised that it is still being manufactured, because it is the worst move ever. It had no plot, no story line, and the special effect were terrrible.

I guess most of the other reviewers dont know good clean action when they see it.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good cast, story, special effects.
No rampant sex (for a change)
No gory scenes (for a change)
A kind of laid back enjoyment.
Try it again.
It is kind of an update of Flight of the Intuder!

One of the worst movies on which I've had the misfortune of wasting money. Not all the Baldwin boys have talent OR taste OR even self-esteem. I can't believe anyone would admit to being in such an amateurly acted, poorly written and unprofessionally produced conglomeration of scenes.

PLEASE don't waste your money.
