1.0 out of 5 stars Lost in the High Desert
You could make a case that there is romance in every man-meets-woman episode. And you could start pecking at a typewriter (as this woman has done) and you could come back with a tale, of sorts. But this desert miasma is no romance worth reading. I tried, bt could not get past the sappy writing, which, it must be said, is on par with that of a high school freshman so...

Kristie Leigh Maguire's DESERT TRIANGLE is a wonderful book which explores the possibility of answering the question What if... From the beginning of time woman has been presented with the temptation to sample forbidden fruit. In Kristie Leigh Maguire's DESERT TRIANGLE the fruit comes in the form of a sexy supervisor.

James 'Jim' McGregor transferred from Wyoming to assume the position of Manager of the Public Relations and Administration Department. With many ideas on how he can change and improve the Public Relations department he is unprepared for the immediate attraction he feels toward his Secretary/Administration Supervisor, Marcie. Knowing it is against company policy to make his feelings known, he is torn whenever Marcie is present. Will he be able to resist the urge to tell Marcie his true feelings?

Marcie, newly promoted to the position of Supervisor of Administration, finds herself instantly lost in the eyes of her newly appointed supervisor, Jim McGregor. Although she is very happy in her marriage, she cannot help herself from allowing her mind to wonder to forbidden thoughts and fantasies concerning Jim. Will she act out her fantasies and seek to make them a reality? Kristie Leigh Maguire does an excellent job in maintaining contact between the main and secondary characters. The office setting is a great realistic choice readers can readily adopt. DESERT TRIANGLE is a beautifully constructed ultra-sensual romance which will have you reaching for the ice water. It is just the type of read everyone needs to experience in order to start off the hot summer months ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spice up your life!, August 7, 2001
This review is from: Desert Triangle: Anything Can Happen in Las Vegas (Paperback)
Steve and Marcie have been happily married for years and feel that nothing can come between them. Until that is, Marcie falls for Jim, her new boss. How can she fall for another man when she is so happy with Steve? Can she really love two men at once? It takes an interesting present from her husband for Marcie to find out!

The plot is pacy and the descriptions of the places are so well done that you can imagine you are there, whether it's in a deserted desert canyon or the bright lights of Las Vegas.

The sexual tension simmers between Marcie and Jim throughout, and it is surprising how they finally get together. Unlike most romance books, the love scenes don't take place behind closed doors, and the passages are erotic and literary, with emotions clearly evident.

If you want something a bit different and spicy than your average romance book, give Desert Triangle a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars And You Think Steak Sizzles, August 12, 2001
This review is from: Desert Triangle: Anything Can Happen in Las Vegas (Paperback)
This is a book that sizzles. It is the first erotic romance I ever read and, Mikey, I liked it!!! I liked it!! One of the reasons for that is that there is more to it than just slow, hot, steam. It is about sex, but it's also about a woman and a man who work hard at keeping their marriage together. It's about a woman who is well-rounded. Marcie, the heroine, is not the typical romantic heroine waiting for a man to solve her problems. She gives both the men and women in her life a run for their money and learns something about life along the way.

You could make a case that there is romance in every man-meets-woman episode. And you could start pecking at a typewriter (as this woman has done) and you could come back with a tale, of sorts. But this desert miasma is no romance worth reading. I tried, bt could not get past the sappy writing, which, it must be said, is on par with that of a high school freshman so wide-eyed about the pimple-faced boy sitting next to her that she sees dating, marriage, and everything else in one clouded frame. Forget this book. There's nothing novel about it. It reads as if a chicken writing about other chickens...save your money!

After having read this sugary gunk, I feel nauseaus and sick and would like to puke in the toilet. I apologize for this not being a "glowing" review. Maybe this review will inspire Ms. Maguire to focus less on her narcisstic attitude, so that she can focus on the important things: to read and learn from the professional pros who write prose that stays in one's soul long after you have closed their books and not make you feel sick to your stomach with such childish, pathetic, and silly writing as displayed in this book. An ample serving of a writing course might do this "author" some good!
