From School Library Journal
Adult/High School-A thorough presentation of this biome. Information is presented in two- to four-page spreads within very broad chapters covering such topics as geography, geology, biology, history, economics, health, and management of deserts. Each section opens with general introductory comments and moves to explain detailed concepts. Subheads enable students to locate the appropriate section for research. The bibliography includes twice as many Web sites as books. Readers will be drawn into this resource by the outstanding color photographs and clear diagrams and charts that clarify scientific principles, processes, and data. Students will benefit from these pictorial explanations, many of which are not available in other resources. The graphics alone are worth the price. A wonderful, reader-friendly work.
