From the Publisher

You'll take the classic Northwind block to new heights when you create exciting quilts based on the eight simple block variations illustrated in this instruction book. Popular quilting teacher Sharyn Craig has developed a sewing system that makes stitching the blocks a breeze. More than a dozen step-by-step photos guide you through cutting pieces and sewing the blocks. Make the blocks in your choice of several sizes with the cutting dimensions provided. Once you master the easy construction technique, discover how slight changes in the block layout create amazingly different looks in your quilts. Fifteen beautiful color quilt photos will inspire you and coloring diagrams provide a chance to experiment with designs on paper first. Full-size pattern pieces for three sizes of Northwind blocks are included.

More About the Author

When Sharyn walked into the door of her first quilting class in the fall of 1978, she had no idea how that simple action would change the rest of her life. She had always loved to sew and do crafts. In fact, she had been a Home Economics major in college, graduating with a degree in Clothing and Textiles. Just attending one quilting class made it clear what all that training had been leading up to. Today she teaches, lectures, and writes about her passion, quiltmaking, and has authored twelve previous books. She has also been a regular contributor to Traditional Quiltworks magazine, having originated the Design Challenge column. You can visit Sharyn on her web site at www.sharyncraig.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Great method!, May 15, 2000
This review is from: Design Challenge: Northwind Quilts (Paperback)
I love this little book. It's called after one block but you can use the method for so many. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and there are many examples of the various quilts you can make from this one small block - A great buy!
