"Stanley Mazor is one of the architects of the information age... So it was not surprising that when Mr. Mazor turned his hand to building a vacation house, his approach would be inventive..." - The New York Times, 2/5/2005 This unique guide chronicles the multi-staged development of a 3-story French Chateau using novel Styrofoam ICF building blocks and other innovative materials. The techniques used and lessons learned during this project are illustrated with more than 70 photographs and many diagrams. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not much meat, May 5, 2004
By A Customer
This book fell far short of my expectations. Not much meat for $40. Seemed more like a pamphlet than a book. I was expecting more design information that would make it possible for me to build my own expandable house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author's review, November 25, 2006

This review is from: Design An Expandable House: For Present Needs And Future Dreams (Paperback)
This 2nd edition revises and replaces the first edition,
and shows my 4 stage house construction project using ICF
styrofoam building blocks. See the lessons learned and
many photos and diagrams and follow the progress of my
project. The house grows from 1,800 sq. ft. to 8,000 sq. ft.
But I describe how to convert a cottage into a castle.
Follow my journey with my wife to France to search for
the original chateau, and see some of the finished details.

5.0 out of 5 stars computer guy builds styrofoam chateau, May 21, 2003
By
I'm the author and explain some of the lessons learned
in designing and building a house using styrofoam ICF blocks.
The approach is to design a large house and then build a small
house (subset) allowing for future expansion. There are lot's
of photos and quite a few diagrams and lessons learned.
I hope you'll enjoy reading and using this book.
