4.0 out of 5 stars The Classic Work on Which the Discipline is Based, April 13, 1999

All modern work in design and analysis of experiments traces its roots back to this 1920 classic. Not for the math-phobic.

5.0 out of 5 stars The First and the Best, October 21, 2011
By
Gerald M. Weinberg (Tererro, NM, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Design of Experiments (Hardcover)
This is where it all started, and it's never been surpassed, just like Fisher's other works. Yes, as one reviewer said, it's not for the math-phobic, but this is the kind of book which makes it worth it to see your analyst or whatever it takes to get over your phobia. It's definitely worth the work, and even without the math, you'll get a lot out of it. I wish Amazon would find a photo of the original cover. It's a beautiful magic square, which figures heavily in the design of experiments. I'll try to find my copy and create a photo.

An Introduction to General Systems Thinking is a good supplement, and may help to overcome that math-phobia.
