Editorial Reviews

In its Golden Age, Hollywood boasted many delightful actresses who could play beautiful, smart, funny working girls. But when it came to beautiful, smart, funny career women, Rosalind Russell was the ideal choice. In this polished romantic comedy, she portrays a judge wooed by Jeff Sherman (Walter Pidgeon), an urbane newspaperman. Sherman's real intent is to put the lady in a compromising position so that his boss (Edward Arnold) can blackmail her into a favorable ruling in his messy divorce case. But the soon-smitten reporter didn't count on Her Honor being quite so beautiful, smart and funny. Academy Award(r) winner* Norman Taurog directs the ensuing comic misunderstandings and mayhem with a feather-light hand.

A screwy romance where Cupid as his revenge and love wins out. Good clean fun for all ages and film buffs.

I am a classic movie lover and I enjoy black and white movies. Rosalind Russell is one of my favorite actresses. I enjoy watching classic comedies and thrillers, so long as they are in black and white.

A great screwball comedy with Rosalind Russell and Walter Pidgeon. She is a judge and a sculptor, he is a reporter posing as a sculptor to get a story.
