5.0 out of 5 stars A retrospective look at some great design, November 7, 2008
This review is from: Design Japan: 50 Creative Years with the Good Design Awards (Paperback)
Length:: 0:21 Mins

Design Japan is a collection of product development philosophy among Japanese companies. Its focus is on industrial design. Some of the selected companies include Brother, Epson, Fujitsu, Nikon, Panasonic, SANYO, Sharp, Shiseido, Sony, Toyota, Yamaha and others.

The history of product development in each company is explained, together with their current and future development trends. It's basically talking about how these companies use design to bring across the corporate image they want to portray.

The last section talks about the history of design from 1956 to 2006. The need for design to help break into oversea markets.

This book is filled with photos of beautiful product designs.

Product designers should find this book a nice read.
