The next six chapters and Chapter 11 cover the primary disciplines involved in this complex process. Chapter 10 deals with multidisciplinary design optimization as applied to STS. Finally, Chapters 12-14 include remaining topics germane to STS design methodologies. The two books as a series aim to give the reader a comprehensive understanding of STS analysis, engineering and design.

About the Author
Walter E. Hammond is a senior engineer for Pace and Waite, Inc., providing system engineering services to the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. He has 30 years' experience in the aerospace industry. Dr. Hammond is a member of the Secretariat of the USAF Scientific Advisory Board, an AIAA Associate Fellow, and a registered profressional engineer. He earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, and an M.B.A. from Texas A&M University, as well as a B.S. and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas.
