Lily Design Protective Decal Skin Sticker for Amazon Kindle 2 E-Book Reader (2nd Gen)

This decal is a thick plastic covered sticker that is cut so perfectly to fit the Kindle 2 that it looks like it is part of the device from the front! It is thick enough to protect, but thin enough that it doesn't seem to alter how well the buttons work. And the colors were exactly right when comparing the Amazon image to what I actually received. It went on very easily, but I would recommend taking it slowly from an edge as it is very sticky!! Conforming well to the shape of the Kindle without bubbles, it did take a little bit of molding to get it just right at the top of the back of the Kindle by the ear phone port.

It looks so good, people who ask to see my Kindle now say things like " Oh, isn't it so great that it comes in colors?!!" (No, Its just an expensive sticker, aka DECAL)

It doesn't scratch easily, and even though I am hard on my Kindle, the decal only has a few dings in it. I am extremely please with the protective qualities of the sticker. I was disappointed that the Kindle didn't come in colors like most other modern devices,but I have changed my mind!! I love that when the sticker gets old and worn out looking, I can replace it with a whole new look because the Decal comes in so many designs!

The decal does make the kindle 2 a little slicker to hold, but it isn't that bad and you could solve this by not putting the back sticker on.... but then your back would be unprotected and BARE!!! Surprisingly, even though I got a brightly patterned decal, it did not prove to be a distraction to my reading. My Kindle is too big of an investment not to protect and the other covers that I have looked at are too bulky too be read in, and if it doesn't protect when you are reading, it isn't good protection!!

The only negative I have is that the sticker is a little glossy and picks up glares that are distracting. (see my customer image) A matte faced decal would have made me give this product a 5 star, but I am very happy that I have one and I will replace it if and when I need to.

The design is a colorful artistic rendition of WATER lilies, but you have to look really close to see it!

UPDATE: i see they are now offering choices in matte instead of gloss. I would highly recommend a matte decal at least for the front!!

I found this skin by accident while browsing and the other review was so positive and the price so reasonable that I thought I'd give it a shot. I arrived in excellent condition, was so much easier to put on than I thought. (the kindle having a qwerty keyboard to get around) The picture online is very true to color as well. Although I'd say it's a crocus not a lily. The only thing that I found was a problem was the back skin caught on the cover where the hinge is and it scrunched a bit. Also, repositioning is a little hard as the vinyl will stretch a bit. But if you are careful and move the back over a bit away from the hinge side you'll be fine. There are so many other designs out there I'm itching to try more. Too bad I can't peel and save and swap them out to suit my mood. Hmmm.

The back went on so easliy. The front is a tad tougher as you have to make sure you are far enough over to cover all the blank space without covering the keys or screen. I loved it when I finished was a good purchase brings so much color to my Kindle.

The skin is fun and protective for the Kindle 2. Good quality and workmanship.

I love this Kindle skin...it turned my boring white Kindle into a pretty, colorful Kindle. The skin looks great and was easy to apply.

My rating is not based upon the product. However it is based upon the customer service experience that I have had with the vendor. I contacted the vendor when I did not receive the "skin" and continue to advise I did not receive it. They have done nothing other than point in the direction of the USPS which is no longer a reliable delivery service. I explained the I never received a notification of the the package and asked that I receive refund. It is not consumer friendly when you can not speak to someone to explain your issue. You must note your concerns in a "limited" text field. I have received my kindle, case, light and screen protectors which are from different vendors, so why has this product been an problem being received? I am extremely disappointed and would like a refund.

I bought this skin for my sister for her Kindle, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this skin! The colors are so bright and it looks really good on her Kindle with purple case.

Easy to apply and bright vivid colors! I purchased along with the apple green leather cover. It looks great together. There was no problem in applying to kindle and no problem with any bubbles. It would come off easily to. The only problem I have had is that it covers up the serial number. I had to lift off for information and then it stretches the vinyl. It re-sticks, but with creases. It is definitely meant for one-time use.

These skins not only personalize and jazz up your Kindle, they protect it from scratches and dirty or wet hands. In addition, they can make the screen appear lighter which improves the contrast.

Applying it wasn't too difficult. Just don't press down on it until it's situated correctly so you can make adjustments. To me the main window was the most important, and at I got two distracting white lines on bottom and right side where it didn't cover completely, but I got used to them. The keyboard holes I got very slightly off, but it doesn't effect their functionality a bit.

The picture looks like the matte/satin version, which is usually $5.00 more. While the colors are the same, the glossy finish which isn't quite as nice looking, in my opinion, but it may be better for fingerprints which wipe off easily. I uploaded some pics so you can judge for yourself.

The decal was easy to put on and I love the look. Many people have commented on how striking it is. It really personalizes my Kindle.
