best rendering book i have read,
By roberto galad (Indonesia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Design Rendering Techniques: A Guide to Drawing and Presenting Design Ideas (Hardcover)
The book shows the basic steps using the new available materials for industrial designers to use. I have known the book from a friend and tried to buy one for myself in the Philippines but it seems fast gone from bookstores. Since I love the classic and manual rendering before I use the computer, I found the book so informative that I learned to improvise and develop my own style of rendering. It helped me focus on the concept better because I have gained confidence in handling rendering materials and the basic understanding of light and shadow play on different textures.

"Starting with the essential tools of the trade, the book describes the principles of perspective drawing and coloring techniques with chapters on marker, airbrush and colored paper rendering. Step-by-step drawings show how to build up a product visual, and follow through the entire design sequence to the finished drawing. Of special interest is the separate feature on automotive design- a field which attracts many creative designers. All types of line and descriptive drawing are explored, including cutaways and exploded views. Sections on special finishes, the use of backgrounds and mounting materials make this book a comprehensive design tool."
