This review is from: Design of Blast Resistant Buildings in Petrochemical Facilities (Paperback)
This is the de facto "bible" for design of blast-resistant buildings located within petrochemical facilities, just as the title infers.
It is offered as a consensus standard reference to address this topic, a sore point among structural designers in the "petrochem" industry for years since no such standard existed previously. The designer was left to wander in the wasteland of proprietary documents authored by operating companies, none of which agreed even on general principle.
Although the first few chapters give a concise review of structural dynamics, the intended audience is the seasoned professional engineer who understands the theory but needs to bridge the gap to practical application.
The design examples are particularly noteworthy, helping to explain some of the concepts that the dry narrative doesn't quite negotiate.
