Something about the fact that many of the ideas are drawings rather than photographs spurs me on to think about using that concept and building on it. I really do love everything about this book. Ms Ericson is gone now, and I admire her equally talented daughter, Diane. Such an amazing amount of talent in one family!
The designs are very simple. I love that because I like simple designs that are easy to sew and easy to fit to my measurements. I'd rather put the time into fun, cool embellishments. And, Lois includes lots of embellishment ideas in this book, as well.
If you love ethnic, Boho, or hippie-style clothing, you'll be delighted with this book.
All in all, if you need a new wardrobe and want something distinctive, this oldie-but-goodie is still a great starting point. It's also ideal for someone who's creative, but new to sewing. (Some trial-and-error may be involved. Don't expect form-fitting darts or precision tailoring.)
This book is a classic. Buy a copy while you can. I'm glad I did.
