06612 does not represent this product accurately. Driving in South Arkansas encounters me with 20-30 deer per night, so this would accrue to about 16,000 deer I have come in contact with after purchasing this product four years ago, plus the drivers of my other vehicles. None of my vehicles have been in contact with any animal since installing this device. The product attaches easily to any radiator mount with a screw or wire tie. All vehicles have a radiator mount that is mounted perpendicular to the road, allowing for easy installation. The product comes with different instructions than the one shown and includes a switch so the device "can be turned on or off with included switch". One option is to wire the device into your parking lights instead of using the switch, which means when your parking lights are on, so is your device. Another way is to grab a fuse with the included fuse taps and run it to the switch, then run the switch output to the device. Wow, that is so complicated! It definitely does not require an auto mechanic. If you have ever installed a car radio, CB, fog lights, house light switch, or et cetera, this is much simpler than that and you will do fine. Don't let 06612 make it sound hard. 06612 makes another absurd accusation. This device has been on my vehicles for four years and I have met/passed/been beside HUNDREDS of cops and have NEVER been stopped or pulled over. If you get close to law enforcement vehicles that travel in rural areas, you will notice that most of them will have some type of device, also! This device is worth its weight in gold. The installation is easy and took me about fifteen (15) minutes to mount it, run the wires, and install the switch. A wonderful product!

THE WORST PRODUCT EVER PURCHASED,

THIS PRODUCT IS A JOKE! THE DESCRIPTION ON THE PRODUCT SAYS IT IS AN EASY HOOK UP. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT. I PURCHASED 4 OF THEM...HIRED AN OFF DUTY MECHANIC TO COME AND INSTALL THEM. HE HAD TO MAKE A SPECIAL BRACKET FOR 2 OF OUR CARS BECAUSE OF THE CONFIGURATION OF OUR GRILLS. IF HE CONNECTED THEM ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS THEY WOULD HAVE DRAINED OUR BATTERIES IN A DAY. IF HE USED THE ON/OFF TOGGLE SWITCH THEY PROVIDE HE WOULD HAVE HAD TO DRILL THROUGH THE FIREWALL AND DASH BOARDS...SO HE DECIDED TO INSTALL THOUGH THE FUSE BOX SO THE UNITS WOULD BE ACTIVE WHEN THE CARS WERE RUNNING. ONCE HE DID THIS HE COULD NOT BELIEVE HIS EARS...A CONSTANT CHIRPING SIREN LIKE SOUND EMITTED FROM THE UNIT. WE READ AND REREAD THE DIRECTIONS. THIS AUDIBLE SOUND WOULD STAY ON CONTINUALLY. IT WAS SO RIDICULOUS AND LOUD. IT WOULD HAVE BROUGHT NEW MEANING TO SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. THE POLICE WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY WRITTEN A TICKET FOR IMPERSONATING A SIREN. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOUR DRIVING A TRACTOR AND HAVE A DEGREE IN AUTO MECHANICS TO INSTALL IT. I WILL BE RETURNING THESE A.S.A.P.

If the Deer Alert 20501 truly works as well as it is to install, no one should hit a deer again. The ease of installion varies from vehicle to vehicle not from the product itself.
