5.0 out of 5 stars a excellent guide for handling the whitewater of today's healthcare, November 24, 2009
By
Tim D from Dallas "Tim" (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
Dr Kenagy as surgeon, scholar, patient and thinker has set a course for improving healthcare at the point of impact. This is not simply a thoroughly researched book as much as a how to guide for improving the delivery of healthcare in challenging times.

I found it nearly impossible to just read; rather I had to study it and take notes, review those notes and then see how it can apply to my own situation. Rarely has a book intrigued me and enticed me with so much possibility as much as this one.

Oh, I am sure he will have his detractors and I suspect they will come from academia. but pay the haters no heed. This book has immediately applicable tools to improve your office, clinic, hospital or practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book can make your life better, if you let it, December 23, 2009
Dr Kenagy has hit a home run with this book. He has condensed the most important concepts of the well vetted Toyota production system methods and created a book that any healthcare worker can read, understand immediately, and use the knowledge to begin improving patient care. This book is an easy read, the methods are intuitive, and if effectively implemented in a department, Adaptive Design can empower staff and provide the best care possible (until you improve it some more!)
