DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a colorful, positive book that will truly make your child feel special and build his/her self confidence.

My daughter really loves the pictures and hearing about how God blessed her with so many gifts that we as adults may sometimes take for granted (our sense of sight, hearing, touching and smelling [taste was not included] and more.) This is really a 4 1/2 star book only because God's name is mentioned only on the cover, dedication page (above title) and the first page of the book. The rest of the pages start with "HE", however, this is easily remedied. When I read it to my daughter I just add "GOD" to each page and it works perfectly. In my opinion that is the only flaw in the book.

If I am running late putting my daughter to bed, I've found that the story is just as charming if I read only the first paragraph on each page (it has 3.) Also DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a great training tool to teach your child objects from the book. I say "where's the: flower, butterfly, cloud, dog, cat, bunny, frog, fish, rainbow, bird, bees, bed, bathtub, sun, tree," etc. and my daughter will search for the object and point to it.

I must include the last page of the book for you so you'll know what you are missing if you don't own this:

I highly recommend this VERY SPECIAL book for home and the church library. You won't be disapppointed.

This was one of the very first books my now 3 year old daughter received when she was born. We have read it to her almost every night since. She loves it! Now she's pretty much memorized it. I buy it for everyone I know who is having a baby.

My son LOVES the bright colors and all the items he can pointto. He was only a few months old when this book became one of hisfavorites because of the colors. I enjoy reading it to him because it reinforces how God has made him unique and special - a one of a kind.

I received this book as a gift when I had my son 5 years ago. I've been reading it to him since he was born, and he still loves it. The pictures are colorful and eye-catching, and the story-line is precious, after all, what child isn't special? I'm now buying this book for my nieces to share and intend to buy one for the rest of my family as they have children. I'm going to try Butterfly Mornings now, and I'll let you know how I like that one. I hope you and your children enjoy yours as much as we've enjoyed ours!

I have 3 children that have all loved this book. When they were too young to understand the words they loved pointing at the pictures and saying what they were pointing at. The illustrations are childlike and in bright colors, which is so appealling to young children. The simple pictures, without the words, have been a learning experience for my kids. Now that my son is older and understands the words, he loves the content as well.

God saved the most special of creations for the last day...PEOPLE! Children are very special creations of God. This is a must have for church, home and public libraries!

In response to people ranting about the "caucasion" edition......So would it be better if the book was only available in one edition with only caucasion children in the picture? I think the point was that the book is meant to be personal and about "me", so the publisher offered the book in 2 editions so that African American children would not be looking at pictures of children with white skin and wondering why the picture doesn't match up. Are you that small-minded that you couldn't see that? I think to offer books in only one edition is the true diservice. The story is not different, just the color of the children. Get it?

A truely wonderful book, for all children. BTW- you can find this book in both editions through Amazon.

Bonnie and Holly Sose have Illustrated this wonderful children's' book written by Bonnie Sose for parents to read to toddlers.

I have not read a children's book in many years. My only child is nearly 24 now, but this was a book that my wife and I often read to him. It helped reinforce that he is here for a purpose and has special gifts given to him by God.

My niece and her husband are expecting a little girl next month. This book and Love You Forever written by Robert Munsch and Illustrated by Sheila McGraw are the most memorable books we purchased when my son was a child. Accordingly, we purchased them from AMAZON.com for my niece her husband to read to their daughter.

Both of these books are ones that you will cherish for a lifetime. They bring back memories of the look and smile on our son's face and that twinkle in his eyes when we read to him. It may have something to do with his sense of purpose now and the special bond that he, his mother and I have for each other now and always.

This book has withstood the test of time and is still the gem we shared with our toddler long ago. I think you will agree that these are two of the best children books on the market.

This easy to read poetic book was one of my child's favorite books growing up. NOw 8 years later, I give it as often as I can as a baby shower gift. Recipients really enjoy it, particularly if they are African American.

I have been buying this book to give newborns or for their baptisms for a few years now. It is such a sweet book. Kids love it because it is so colorful - and tells them how special they are. Parents love the message. It is always well received and well-used.
