Outward Hound Designer Rain Jackets are the perfect alternative to the traditional vinyl rain slickers that have been on the market for years. Made of breathable micro fiber fabric. Adjustable straps on the leg, neck, and belly for a snug fit on all sizes and shapes of dogs. Available in three stylish color combination's.
As far as the actual item is concerned, I am pretty happy. The "what color you get you get pot luck thing" is kind of funky, but the merlot camo color I got works with my pup because of her color and she is female. It does have rear leg straps that my dog really did not like, but it stays on well enough without them on and is good for spring downpours. Lastly, I don't see this thing fitting a dog on the upper end of the weight range given for its size...my dog is on the lower at at around 35 pounds and it is almost too small.
We purchased these for our two dogs, I thought they looked cute online, and most doggie raincoats are a little, well, not so cute... we got one in a size small, the other size large.. I have to say, that the velcro is not very strong, and sometimes when we go on walks, it comes apart... leaving me hbending down in the rain, balancing umbrella on my neck just to re-attach the jacket that's slid halfway down. (we both end up getting soaked) Also, it doesn't cover as much of the dog's body than i would have liked... I think design-wise, it could have used 3 more inches of cover on the sides... It works, but I don't think it has very good coverage, as the dogs are still semi wet when we get inside.
This doggie rain jacket is adorable. I received the ice blue and elephant. It looks great on my black dog. The material is excellent and easy to clean. I got a spot of I don't know what on it the first day. It washed right off with a little hand soap and water and dried almost instantly. The underside has mesh, too, to make the jacket breathable. The ONLY reason I gave this jacket a 4 instead of a 5 is the sizing info. My dog weighs 46 lbs which, according to the listing, is a MED. But the jacket is snug. She can wear it, but I'd go a size up from the listing when ordering. A pocket for poop bags and treats would be a nice addition, as well. Otherwise, this jacket is great and I couldn't beat the price. I tried, but I didn't find anything as stylish and well-made in the same price range. This little doggie jacket is well worth the money. When my baby's ready for a LG, I'll buy this same jacket because it's just, well, adorable.
Go larger when ordering. I got a large for a medium dog and her hind end still hangs out a bit. I also wish it came up a bit higher like a hood, but that is my fault because you can see from the picture it doesn't. Shipping was quick and efficient, especially since I used the free super-saver shipping. I went ahead and got a second rain coat that is bigger and has a hood. I use this one when it is cool or just misting a bit.
This raincoat came quickly from the vendor and mostly fits my Keeshond (I got the medium based on weight, but Kees are pretty fluffy dogs and I think a large may have been better around the middle. (But then it might have been too long, this is the right length. I wish the strap that connects on his chest was longer, it would solve the tightness from his thick coat.
