We have two of these vests for our two Shelties. They are both in the 23-30lb size range and surprisingly love the water as much as any lab. We have had these vests for two summers now and they have held up very well. We live in TX and our dogs love being in the water to avoid the hot Texas Summers. The vest provides decent enough flotation, stays on securely, and seems comfortable enough. However, we have noticed that when our dogs start getting tired from a long swimming session this vest WILL NOT KEEP THEIR HEAD OUT OF THE WATER. If for some reason your dog had to swim to a great distance or was otherwise incapacitated this vest would not save their life. The dog would only last as long as they had the strength to keep their head up. We have tried adjusting the straps a million time and trying to strap it farther forward on the dog, but this doesn't work any better. I am not a hydro dynamics engineer, but I think the design just needs more flotation material around the collar area. That being said I haven't really found a better design yet, but I'm pretty sure that any true Life Jacket or PFD for human wear has to be certified by the US Coast Guard that will keep an incapacitated person's head above water and allow them to breathe until help arrives. I don't think a dog's life preserver should be any different.

This is the best life jacket that I have found for our dog. Our dog wears a life jacket when we sail, and since sometimes that is at night, the reflectors are important if he ever fell overboard. The fit is very good, and since it has both velcro and buckles, it is very secure. The handle is also very helpful for helping the dog get in/out of the boat. This jacket is better than life jackets I have found at boating supplies stores. We've been using it every weekend for about 2 or 3 years, so it has been very durable.

I ordered this one after previously buying 1 size smaller for my jack russel terrier. This one is a little big, and I needed to alter it, but the other one was too tight. After alteration it fits well, it is made very well, and lots of 'floating' power!. The handle is great for the boat; I can lower him into the water for a quick cool-off, and then right back into the boat!
If it ever wears out, I'll buy another.

I bought this for my 20lb french bulldog and it fit perfectly! I was worried because the product picture looks like that pug is getting choked but it fit my frenchie perfectly. I love that there's velcro so I can easily get it on her quickly (she'll try to run away). Then once it's kind of on, i can readjust it and secure it with the adjustable snaps. I love the handle as well. I was concerned that it might be choking her too, but it lifts from mostly her chest and belly and a little around the neck/shoulders. We tested it at the beach and it kept her head above the water and she quickly became very comfortable jumping into the water.

I've bought the doggles and some booties (she had a feet allergy from grass)... and she hated keeping those on. I'm glad I finally made a purchase that she loves as well.

UPDATE:
My frenchie still loves this! The only thing to watch out for is that one day we noticed a red mark near her neck. I think the velcro or something was chaffing her. We just keep an eye on that area now and she hasn't had any more problems.

Also, we got the orange vest and one day it decided to bleed orange onto her fur. It came out when we washed her at home.

We use this life jacket for a little miniature poodle who needs to swim for physical therapy. This jacket keeps her head and her ears well out of the water and offers resistance so that she gets a good workout to strengthen her leg and shoulder muscles. It is simple to put it on and take it off. I'm ordering a second one for back-up. It is superior to more expensive life jackets we have tried and one cannot beat the price.

I purchased an xx small of this product last summer for my 5 pound chihuahua and it was a perfect fit! I especially like the handle on top along with the leash clip. I'm much more comfortable out on the water now that my dog has this to wear!

I have a Pembroke Welch Corgi who likes to go on canoe adventures with me. This flotation device is perfect for her, the bright color and refection strips will make her easy to spot should something happen. I can actually pick her out of the water by the handle. I'm very pleased with the quality and the price of this product.

Bought it for my mid-size dog. Couldn't believe how stiff it was. I'm sure it works well, but my dog is too uncomfortable in it.

Not much to say. Have used it 2 or 3 times now, no fraying or loose threads. The strap under the neck helps keep the dogs face above water. Tightens enough not to be loose while the dog is in the water.

Great product. I purchased one years ago for a larger dog and have been a very satisfied customer. love how reasonably priced it is.
