5.0 out of 5 stars 100' 12 gauge will fit
I had trouble finding a cord storage wheel which would accommodate 100 feet of 12 gauge extension cord. After contacting the manufacturer, they indicated that 100 feet of 12 gauge will just fit; which it does. It is definitely a timesaver as I previously spent many minutes untangling the extension cord.

2.0 out of 5 stars About the same as my 7 dollar one but a little worse
Does the job, but it looks and acts the same as my orange 7 dollar one from Home Depot. The handle clips in but I don't bother. The one thing I do not like is that the bearings are TOO good. With the cheap plastic one, the cord would stay put. This one, it will unwind if there is any uneven weight, like the end of the cord. So I have wedge it somehow. Buy or keep the 7...

4.0 out of 5 stars You should unreel the cord anyway, December 23, 2007

I don't own this product (yet), although I do own the cheaper Home Depot one. But keep in mind that with all these products, you shouldn't run a high-draw device unless you unreel the cord all the way anyhow...a wrapped cord can get too hot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Note: Won't hold 100' of 12 AWG, August 30, 2007
This review is from: Designers Edge E-103 Cord Storage Wheel (Tools & Home Improvement)
When I bought the 100' heavy duty 12 AWG cable, this reel was advertised as a package deal. It would only hold about 80' of the 100'. Other than that it seemed to be a fairly well-made device.

3.0 out of 5 stars decent build quality but flawed design, January 30, 2010

This yet another cord wheel that will hold over 100' ft of cord but assumes you want to unroll it all to use it. Basically, it lacks a 'hole' or entry way to snake the male cord end thru the axis and out of the wheel so you can wind and unwind the cord without struggling so.

I am going to all electric lawn tools, which means plenty of extension cords. This little light weight reel is a happy solution to avoid tangled and hard to store cords. Came fully assembled and ready to go to work.

This electrical cord storage wheel really solved a headache I was having every time I needed to use my 125' extension cord. What a tangled mess I would end up with. I dreaded the thought of having to rewind that cord mess. I usually end up deligating that task to my Brother, LOL... Now it sits neatly tucked away in the corner of my garage, ready for simplified use.....

it does hold 100' of cord, but it would have been way more useful, if it could plug into an outlet and let you unroll the cord as it is plugged in.

3.0 out of 5 stars You don't have many choices when it comes to this one..., June 23, 2007
This review is from: Designers Edge E-103 Cord Storage Wheel (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this along with my 100 ft outdoor cable from coleman, it's very light and you have to hold it with your feet to stop it from falling down and creating a big mess. The good part is that you can carry it around with just one hand. It would have been nice if they had a more intelligent cable holding system on the inside, so that you could have extended it from both ends.
