This was my first LED bulb purchase--a quest to generate less carbon dioxide and save electricity dollars. I expected to experiment with this bulb in several fixtures until I found the optimum use for it. I'm about three months into using it for bedside reading in a lamp which has a horizontally-mounted socket. It does a superb job replacing the incandescent 30 watt spotlight bulbs I previously used, at a savings of 95% over the tungsten filament watt-hours. It does provide a rather narrowly focused beam at such a close range (about two feet) but the light is brilliantly white and the bulb burns cool with no discernible thermal losses. If the bulb lasts for even half of its advertised 50k hours I will have saved many dollars over the incandescent spot lamps (at 2k hours and about $3 apiece) which get quite hot and fail abruptly if they are accidentally bumped. Anybody can find a money-saving use for this bulb with a little experimentation.

We bought this light to replace the GE halogen spots in our curio cabinet. It is a much dimmer light than the 50W halogens and it doesn't light beyond the first shelf of the cabinet - it leaves most of the cabinet dark. I wouldn't recommend it for this use. The package says it's equivelent to a 15W bulb, but that information was not on the Amazon description when we purchased it.

I tried this product in my range hood and it created a ridiculous blue glow. I put it in my closet, but I am now wondering if will be able to match my clothes tomorrow morning! Next time I buy an LED light I am going to make sure I know the color range.

GREAT LITTLE SPOT LIGHT, I USE THIS L600 18 IN A FLEX ARM DESK LIGHT OVER MY WORK BENCH. THAT I BUILD 1; 160 SCAEL MODEL RAILROADS ON . THIS SPOT LIGHT IS FERFECT FOR PUTTING BRIGHT LIGHT IN THE VERRY SMALL LOCOMOTIVES. ALONG WITH MY MAGNAFYING LAMP. I WOULD RECCONMEND THIS FOR SPOT LIGHTING MOST ANY THING, ART,PHOTOS WALLS YOU NAME IT. GREAT LIGHT BRIGHT WHITE AND ONLY 1.5 WATS OF ELECTRIC. ALL MOST FREE LIGHTING, WITH A 20 YEAR LIFE SPAND.
