Elizabeth Brawley has spent nearly twenty years working with health care providers and design professionals in long-term care facilities and shares her experience in this guide to creating responsive, responsible care environments for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementing illness. It links therapeutic goals with specific design suggestions in such key areas as lighting, color, acoustics, safety, and wayfinding, floor coverings and window treatments to fabrics, patterns, and ceiling finishes.
