Format: Paperback
In the interest of full disclosure, I was asked by the authors to contribute to this book. And my comments made it to print. That said, I was actually uncertain what this book was going to end up being when it was first described to me. Now, seeing it in real life, I am amazed at how much territory the authors have covered. My contributions relate to public speaking, but there are also incredibly useful chapters on focus-group facilitation, agenda preparation, usability testing - a LOT of other stuff. Part of what makes the book particularly interesting are the myriad of anecdotal stories contributed by key figures within the user-experience community.

To be frank, I've been in this business a long time and am a pretty decent facilitator. But I'd be a liar if I didn't admit that I learned a LOT from this book! If you have ever have to run a meeting, make a presentation, or even just ask your boss for a raise, I guarantee you will find something that will make the purchase of this book entirely worthwhile.

I was just asked to recommend a book on facilitation, and I was thrilled to be able to recommend this one. The skills needed to effectively facilitate discussions are crucial to helping organizations deal with change. For anyone who's involved in building new products or managing teams that have to adapt to new ways of working, this book is a lifesaver.

Still have to finish reading it, I am studying it. So far exceeds my expectations in "how to" about Facilitation.
