Book Description

October 6, 2008 0910965838 978-0910965835
Written for creative, tech-savvy, and business-minded individuals who want to increase the accessibility of their websites, this sensible guidebook explains the concepts behind designing experiences on the internet. From helping customers quickly find information and make their purchases to clearly communicating needs and interests, this resource will not only develop consumer loyalty but will encourage them to spread the word about the sites they frequent. Focusing on the three key areas of structure, community, and customers, designers will enable clients to focus on their own goals rather than on difficulties in navigating. Also included are tips on how to generate conversations with blogs, wikis, and podcasting to create a personal touch.

2.0 out of 5 stars Vaguely disappointing March 13, 2011
Format:Paperback
Picked this up while browsing the web design shelf at the local library and quickly wished the author had more specific and personal insight to share. The book does quote extensively from other books about content strategy and web design, so it may be a useful introduction to other authors and their work.

Learn how to use experience design tools to build more user-friendly websites with Designing the Digital Experience, a guide certain to appeal to marketers and site designers alike. Visitors who enjoy positive digital experiences will find the sites much more useful, appealing, and worthy of recommendation to others: this is a fine survey focusing on community-building and actively user-friendly sites, and is recommended especially for college-level librarians seeking to understand the latest in website assessment and information technology.
